Help With Srut Brace Paint
Ok guys. I need some help with paint. I'm trying to paint the ends of my GM strut brace but no matter what I do the paint won't stick. I'm using a color matched rattle can and then clear coating it. I've tried it twice and the first time my clear coat dried but never hardened and now the paint won't stay on the aluminum. I know some of yall have paint yours so any input would be GREATLY appreciated.
Also, anyone who has polished the brace section of it, what do you do to prevent anything from scratching the finish? If anything can be done? Thanks |

Did you de-grease it before painting it?
To polish, I used Flitz after a few rounds of fine sandpaper. |

I wiped mine down with a prep-wipe and made sure it was completely dry before painting. I got them at AutoZone, but you should be able to find them at any auto parts store.

I did de grease it as well as sand it before spraying. I think it might be something to due with the humidity when I sprayed? I've never used this type of paint before, but since there aren't any others that make AGM this is all I can get.
