Guys, this isnt something that needs to be local. The kit is going to be fairly user or installer friendly to put in. I just need to get an idea of how many of you might be doing this, so I can figure out what I need to get as far as parts. Please PM me if you want to do this. If not, I can sell you the Metra kit as well, we are a Metra dealer.

Im assuming you are talking about the stock dash piece. The reason is that I have to modify the stock PCB behind the panel for my kit, and GM doesnt sell the PCB by itself. And there is no un-modifying it.

I'm interested in this setup and I can let you use my car if needed. I live in Corona, California too so it's a fairly quick drive to your shop.

Well like Ive said, I can take deposits for them, but if I dont get 10 or more its going to be pointless to make a kit. So far the interests has been very high, and as soon as I started to get deposits everybody flaked. Blackmagic you can come down and check us out and drop off a deposit if you want. We are open 10-7.

i'd love to do this man. i don't like the looks of the stock radio at all. this is just too pricey for me. i'm not knocking you though man, i know this stuff is expensive.
if i could afford it right now i would give you a deposit. I wish there was a little more wiggle room on the pricing. |

ya i hear ya guys. i wish i could drop the price just to get more out the door. I should realistically be charging like 1600 bucks or more for all the R&D time, ect that we've put into this. But what you are paying for is just parts and labor to put the kit together. If you guys put down the 150, and I end up getting 20 people, I can at least order the first run parts. If I dont get at least 20 takers, then the whole thing is going to be a no-go, and we will go back to doing them one by one at the shop, for a lot more.

I PM'd you early this week didn't get a response. I was wondering how to do or are you able to control the factory settings like on the factory radio, the entrance and exit lighting, onstar, ect.
Reason why I am wanting onstar is not but for the nav or Bluetooth, but because it lowers my insurance by having it on my car, also for the crash response. |

I'm seriously considering doing this, I just don't think you are going to be able to get 20 people to put a deposit bro.
Then what happens to those who committed ? |

Ya I am serriously debating on doing it or not, $1000 is a lot of money for radio dash kit, I mean I know that the amount of time involved but just thinking is it worth it to me personally or just do a JL cleansweep and not worry about nav.

onstar still works. how many camaros have been sold? like 90,000, and i cant find 20 guys to do this? I dont get it. ya 1000 bucks is a lot, but thats a lot less then what I should be selling them for. If anyone gives me a deposit, and I dont get 20 people, then you get your deposit back. Keep in mind you arent just buying a DASH KIT. Its 3 custom designed circuit boards, extension cables, a molded and painted dash, an enclosure to retain the factory PCB, etc. Not just some cheap piece of plastic that bolts to your dash.
all the factory menu controls are retained in an enclosure that is easily accessible inside the trunk. the Metra kit does NOT retain any of those options, no matter what anyone tells you. |
