You aren't kidding. I have a 2004 Liberty that I bought brand new. In the 9 years I've had it I never had to worry about the snow, and it's never had anything major wrong with it, but it's VERY thirsty. If it weren't paid off I'd unload it. If you think the Liberty is slow you should drive a Grand Cherokee. I can't speak for the newer ones, but when I was looking for an SUV back in 2003 I test drove a Grand Cherokee. I really liked it, but it was extremely slow. I couldn't even imagine myself trying to pass someone in it. That's what led me to the Liberty.

You just reminded me of the Liberty my wife was dying for, we found a good deal on one and sold her Cobalt that got 38mpg highway and 28 city and bought it. 6 months later the gas prices went from $2.50 a gallon to $4.00 a gallon in about 3 weeks. It was costing us 75 bucks a week in gas in that thing. When the gas dropped back down some we decided to get rid of it. We found a sucker to unload it on because he thought 20 MPG highway and 14 city was good.

I got to where all I would put in it was $20 a week. I wasn't going to break the bank to keep that thing going. I kid you not there would be times I'd check the gauge that would keep track of the MPG and it would be at 11MPG. Luckily I live very close to where I work, so I didn't have to drive it very far. During the summer I would drive my 92 Z28 some to help save gas. My girlfriend drives it now. A few months back she told me that she wanted to sell her Cougar and get a SUV. I told her that there was no sense in both of us driving a gas guzzler. She said that she probably couldn't afford to take on a payment, so I told her she could drive my Jeep if she wanted. She agreed and sold her Cougar and started driving the Jeep. A few days later I bought my new Camaro.

I had a 2005 Silverado Dually Duramax for 5 1/2 months before totalling it, in 2005.

On the opposite side of that coin I've had my 2006 Colorado for almost 6 1/2 years bought new.

Bought an 87 Isuzu I-Mark and had it for 7 hours. I worked at the dealership, and signed the paperwork in the morning. Prep guy took it out for the test drive and was T-boned when someone ran a red light. Car was totaled, and technically I never really owned that one.

I made it 5 months...

I made it 5 months with a 1996 Firebird. I special ordered it loaded with T-tops and a performance package. I traded it in for a loaded Formula 350. Both sweet cars!
