2013 Vert, thoughts?
My wife and I are about ready to dive in and get a 2013 ZL1 Vert, to replace the Lotus Exige and Honda S2000 we got rid of when our daughter was born 4 years ago.
Recently (in the last 2 weeks) picked up a Chevy SS and love it. That prompted us to look at the ZL1 and decide that you can never have too many bowties around the house (to go along with our 2006 Chevy C4500 Kodiak pickup). I have read the forum on 2013's but would like to know from any of the vert owners if there is anything specific I might need to think about as we go to buy? We are set on the vert as she loves to have the top down, me not so much but I can live with it. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and time. Rick |

You'll find that everyone here LOVES their verts.
Some things you should know: speed limited to 155 (instead of ~184 for the coupe) No PTM modes . . . but you can get there through magnetic ride control selection and traction control settings No belly Pan, but instead, additional bracing to compensate for the ragtop Oh, and it's AWESOME. |

Thanks, I doubt I will ever see 155 so that is not a real problem. If I want to race I will head to the local dirt track with my midget.
We are more than excited about the car, we just need to close on our new house next week then I can go get the car! |

2013 ZL1 Vert, black M6, delivered 8-27-12, currently at 13,000 miles, waiting for the warm weather so I can pull it out of storage.
I traded my 2011 2SS/RS Vert as soon as they announced the ZL1 Vert. ILOVE this car, it is awesome. |

If you are looking for people that have had a vert, and got rid of it because they didn't like it, they won't be spending their time here. I don't know where you find them, but it's not here. |

The ZL1 is the greatest Camaro ever produced: power, handling, comfort and on and on. The coupe/vert choice is a personal thing. You have to decide what you want your driving experience to be. The 2013 ZL1 vert was the most powerful vert ever produced in North America. A record made to be broken. My grand kids enjoy the back seat rides that are not possible in a vette. Good luck with your decision !!

No problems with the top at all, it is of very good quality and the mechanism is designed really well. Buy yourself top cleaner and repellent to keep the top looking brand new

Thanks for all the great feedback, we are set on the vert. I do not need to drive 155 let alone 180+ my ego is ok without that. The family will love the wind in their hair. This car will be a weekend warrior at most.
All of you have me more excited to go make a deal, any thought on what I should be paying? |

Can not help you on the current price. Purchased mine new and is going to be mine until I take the dirt nap. Therefore, current value is not a concern of mine. Maybe other members can chime in on the current values that they have been researching. Do not get in a hurry and you will find your best deal.

I ordered mine the first day you could place an order, and my dealer only got a single allocation for the first 6 months of Vert production, so there wasn't much of a need on the dealers part to negotiate, but they did give me the suppliers discount since I work at a tier 1 supplier.
Out the door, including taxes, license, etc, I think mine was $63k. Manual Suede Polished Wheels ECF tire/wheel protection clear bra. |

Only issue as with all 5th gen verts, don't over pack for a trip and expect to cruise with the top down, unless you plan to dump all your stuff in the back seat.
