Of course all this AFTER I did mine and cut the wires voiding warranty.... Just couldn't wait any longer ugh.

Edit: Cutting wires would void warranty right? But is that jut for the 36,000 miles or lifelong warranty of car?

You never know how a service tech will interpret modification done to the car. You could do the most elegant and sophisticated upgrade to the audio system, and a tech troubleshooting your trunk release mechanism could say it wasn't working 'cause you messed with the stereo. I always try to do modifications in such a way that they are not obvious. If you have an electrical problem in the trunk area and they see cut wires, they are probably going to jump to conclusions (that aren't necessarily correct).

You are so right, I work at a dealership and once they see that all bets are off.

Mods do not necessarily imply voided warranty. The issue is that if a problem arises it becomes a "he said she said" thing. Dealer says something you did messed up something else. That could be true or not. If you disagree it will end up in arbitration. If you splice wires at the amp and then your stereo up in the dash breaks, I can see them denying that. Now, if your NPP falls off the car or your transmission fails, most likely warranty will cover as there is no relationship between those parts.

So when you guys go in to the dealership, will you be unplugging your whole audio setup? Should I maybe go the route of fixing everything to the way it was and use a harness?

The image of your completed harness....does that consist 100% of the 2 part #'s you have linked above? the Metra 70-2057 and Metra 71-2107? If so, can you do a write with regards to how you created the connections/pin outs?

OP, you don't have the Bose system, right? I have the Bose and it seems I'm still missing one harness for the gray connector on top. If anyone has a part number fro that I'm all ears.

he listed 2 different amazon links ....did you purchase both? i am hoping for a detailed write up to make one myself...

It would also be nice to know if a plug exists to bypass ANC microphones without cutting the wires

Yes, I got both. The short green connector is Metra 71-2107 and the green connector with the long wires is Metra 70-2057. In my case the black connector that comes with Metra 70-2057 does NOT fit anywhere. The 71-2107 harness also comes with a gray connector that does NOT fit anywhere in the Bose system. This is why I'm assuming he has non-Bose.

I'm so sorry guys I don't really have time to really get into putting the system together plus it's too cold out side to work on it, don't have a garage. I do have the boss system and again I'm sorry for not being thorough but I will write my installation when I'm done. There is another harness you going to need, i got it from amazon PT2641 that Is the black 8 pin harness.... Hopefully I'll start working on it soon....
