Mine messed up too with the clearcoat.
It seemed quite hard.
I used Enamel Spray Paint.
That was no better.
I got it right by waiting for things to set.

Them about a month in with it on the Car it began to fade again !! :-(
Like micro air bubbles.

In the end I hand painted it with Humbrol Enamel paints and used Acrylic Varnish.

So far so good for me.

But that is my UK based paint story.

Your USA paint is better for this :-)

Watch the humidity too. High humidity can cause clearcoat to go on cloudy.

I kind of figured it might be, since I'm from Michigan and know what the weather can be like this time of year back there. I don't get a lot of opportunities to paint here in Washington because it's humid and cold. Two straight weeks of rain here and still going. I just hope it doesn't stretch on into July, as it's been known to do at this time of year, or I'll never get anything done!Name: badday.gif

Yes it is on the strut brace. The engine cover I did not clear and it turned out great. The fuse cover I did and will have to redo.

Hey, there you are! When are you going to hook up with the rest of us? I led a cruise up Green Valley a couple weeks ago. Was hoping you might make that, since it's so close to you.

Is there anything that can be done about the ugly golden bowtie on these covers besides just removing the whole thing?

I taped it off and used matte black model paint to black it out, holding up great!
