While the 2007 and 2008 brochures do not include or mention it, the '08 Mustang Bullitt was a special version of the V8 and was the only '08 Mustang model available in dark highland green. So special models are sometimes available in colors not available on V6s or even regular Mustang GTs. And the '03 Mach1 was the only '03 Mustang available in grabber blue, but once again the Mach1 was a special model and not an option on the Mustang GT.

How is this an invalid comparison?

The 2007 and 2008 Mustang brochures show the exact same colors (and number of colors) available on both the V6 and GT Mustangs. Apparently you are wrong that "Mustang has always had colors exclusive to the V8".

And you apparently missed my earlier post, where I said that I had been hoping to buy a Camaro SS in blue with white stripes myself. I'm right with everybody else who WANTS them to offer the SS in blue. I am just trying to understand what reasoning they had in not offering blue on the SS. Again, it must provide some advantage for them not to, or else they would, right?
This year the same color's are offered in both the V8 and V6 models (bullit not included even though it is a V8 produced by Ford) however many of the years have offered exclusive color's on the V8 only. My point was made in that at the very least, all the color's were offered on both V8 and V6 Mustangs while in many years exclusive color's were offered. I remember in 1998, there was a special Gold color only available that year for the V8. Let's hope this forum gets GM to change this before production and offer a blue color.. AS for me saying the V8 Camaro vs the GT500 is an invalid comparison because the V8 Camaro will be in a much higher production run... I'm not here to argue, just saying that if you compare the Camaro V8 with the Mustang V8 as it should be, this year GM is doing things a bit differently than normal by not offering any blue color on the V8's..

I'm sure that all the folks who REALLY want blue enough to wait will get the last laugh when they come out with a badass new blue color.....maybe say in mid year when the white ones are available.....if not sooner. Cause in my opinion if they are thinking about sales numbers I'd be willing to bet more blue ones would be sold than yellow or inferno orange (maybe even more than both those combined)

Gonna have to look up some #'s on color sales. Blue is a "normal" color and im sure they would sale more blue than yellow or orange.... could be wrong though.

Personally I'm not interested in blue, but I want everybody to get as close to their dream Camaro as possible and not having a blue color option for the SS will definitely dampen that dream for alot of enthusiast and casual buyers.

I posted repeatedly in the other "no blue offered on the SS" thread, so I'll post here just to say that at least one blue should be offered on the SS, especially since 2 reds are being offered.

Its a older article but it gets the point across! Blue is just way to popular to be left out of the SS lineup.

I'd have to assume, based on what i've read, that since GM is going through financial hardships right now, and they are projecting the V6 to waay outsell the V8, its more economically efficient to limit the variety of colors needed to pump V8's off the production line.

however, i could also be completely wrong.. just a theory..

I want a different color, but I do like blue and I think that all colors should be available no matter what stile you want. The out come could be more cars sold. It is time that GM brass quit telling people what to buy and start making what they want instead.

I am not going to buy blue whether it comes out or not on the SS, so I voted no, because GM needs our the honest truth about what the market desires.
