Wanting Airraid

Im holding out on a intake right now because I want to see if they come out with anything better but I dont want to wait forever

my question is, is there any other intakes in the making right now or should I just get the airraid

I really like my airaid and the improved performance. There are a few threads about this already in this section. If you read them you will find that everyone is happy with their purchase of their airaid, at least that is what I read. I never really saw any bad remarks about them.

The Airraid is the top choice. Combined with IAT relocate and exhaust the gains should be significant.

Airaid's price is competitive. Waiting for anything else at a lower price, in my opinion, would be a lessor system. The Airaid system is a good value for the quality. As for the system itself, put me on the list of happy customers.

If you don't mind wating a few months, I would say then Wait !
I think in a few months there will be at least a few new V6 intakes released !
I am not talking about finding one at a lower price.

Did you, or will you do an exhaust mod ?

I put the MRT exhaust on first, then the Airaid.
I showed 1 to 2 tenths of a sec. gain on my 0-60mph runs with the exhaust.
When I added the Airaid I seen no more than 1 hundered of a sec. gain.
So if you have an exhaust mod, don't expect any gain from the airaid without a tune. IMO

NOTE:......... I read somewhere in a Thread that you will gain X with a Exhaust Mod. alone.
OR gain X with a Intake Mod.alone.
But you will NOT gain 2X with the 2 Mods.
For Example: X= 2 tenths. Sec. on 0-60 runs.
So you could only gain 2 tenths & NOT 4 tenths...........

That's what happened with mine......

Yeah, I'm playing the waiting game... I'm trying to hold off until their is a tuner/CAI combo out! Until we can tune the car we are basically stuck using the same size MAF housing size... Once we can tune the car then you can do things like increase the MAF housing size... for example here is the stock MAF housing vs the C&L MAF housing (from my V6 Stang..)

Hello 97one,

You can never stack a bunch of mod's and then think you can just stack the performance, it does not work that way.

It's about finding a good combination of part's that work well together.

Thanks,
David

Love my Airaid. The enhanced growl of the engine by itself is worth it to me..the gains are just a bonus!

Great Job Airaid!!

I like my airaid intake though I do have one reservation. The hugh deflector just opposite the MAF/IAT probe just looks restrictive as hell! It reduces the intake inlet diameter by 40% at a guess. I realize there are certain flow characteristics that must be achieved but there has to be a better way than that! Kinda looks like they took the V8 model and "throttled it down" for the V6..... I can see where this would direct airflow over the MAF but the turbulance off that deflector must be horrendous!
