HOW THE HELL DID I MISS THIS THREAD?

Count me very much in for a Thursday event (and maybe Friday too depending on what else is planned for Friday that my car might need to be at)

FYI Thursday is on the calendar there now:

Friday's event is set-up
AUGUST 7, 2015

1st off I would like to say that this event is not part of the Camaro5 Fest.
This event is being held by a Loyal Camaro/Corvette owner, that has a passion for road racing.
I am calling my track day event Camaro Fun Fest
I am also proud to say that MTI RACING will be participating in this event also
www.mtiracing.com

The event will be run by a company called seat-time.com/ Jon Krolewicz has been doing track days for over 15 years.
This event is a HPDE
We will be running 4 run groups
5 sessions= around 2 1/2 hours of track time
We will be also offering parade laps during the lunch hour, we have not set a fee yet on the parade laps, portions of the fee will go to the track for charity.
List of run groups
Novice with a instructor 25
Intermediate 25
Solo 25
Advance 25
We are limiting this event to 100 entry's
Where to register
www.motorsportsreg.com
The listed heading is Camaro Fun Fest

Okay, here is the rub. Being that this is on one of the C5 Fest days it will be bound to conflict with some Fest events. I'd love to run in the Novice group but hesitate to make an advanced commitment as the schedule of events for the Fest has not yet been announced.

You are correct Ruby, I am sure Friday's event will conflict with something, I'm not 100% sure what the Camaro5 event schedule is.
It is giving more options for us to choose from.
We would enjoy you coming out and joining us.

What is the differences between the classes?

Also link
http://www.motorsportsreg.com/events...k-marco-541746
Link says $275, but charged $300 for anything but novice.

Thanks for informing me about the incorrect pricing, I have called and emailed Motorsportreg to change the pricing. Hopefully they will correct it today.
As far as the 4 run groups
Novice-entry level drivers who will have an assigned instructor providing in-car coaching, and classroom time.

Intermediate- driver that has 5+ track days, that has been sighed off as solo driver, passing zones are restricted to straightaways, point by signal

Solo- drivers with years of experience (typically less then 50 track days)
passing zones are unrestricted, point by signal required

Advance- drivers with years of experience and thousands of laps (typically 50+ track days). Drivers at this level are comfortable with side by side conditions, passing anywhere on the track, passing zones are unrestricted, point by signal required

As with any auto x event anyone's been to before, if you are racing, you are working at some point.
Tag, just a thought here. Working a track corner is going to be different than working an AutoX corner. There are a bunch of different flags you need to know and be able to whip out the right one FAST if something happens. If something major happens you need to communicate upstream to track control so they can stop everything. I am sure it isn't that hard to do with some training, but when I'm going around a track fast I am really relying on corner workers to be on top of his/her game and be communicating 100% correctly with me. Especially if we get a lot of people who haven't got a lot of track experience, and if we are rotating people around, that might be difficult to pull off. Plus unless you are a wizard with scheduling, it's going to cut into track time. 17 corners * 8 hours / 80 people = close to 2 hours of cornerworking per person, plus training and travel time to and from the corner probably means people are going to miss one of their run sessions. I just wonder if it wouldn't be better to ask the NCM people which corners really need to be worked (maybe not all 17) and then hire some experienced folks to do it...

what class you going to enter pete? i want to run advanced but i want us to be in the same class. i know you are coming to the track for the first time. this just means that you need to run the spring NCM event with us and get your first trip outta the way. that way we can run advanced. the solo group might be fine. its a big track. with 25 cars there should be room in all classes. i have seen them run 30 or more at this track.
man im blowing money lately.

They have made the correction on the pricing, and some misspelled words.
