Pulled the trigger...
Well, after mostly lurking for a couple of months (this is an awesome resource), I signed up on here a few days ago, and have ordered myself a new Camaro. I had been considering the ZL1, but after test driving a 2012 SS a number of times, I just decided that it was plenty enough for me, especially since it has to be a daily driver.
I have been following the vert top issues, but despite what I have read, I am going to hope I am one of the lucky ones with no issues. I have wanted a vert for a long time, so I am going for it! With my wife's approval, I ordered a 45th 2SS M6 vert today. I normally prefer symmetrical graphics, but for some reason I liked the 45th package. The color looks awesome in the sun, and we get lots of that in Texas. Initial mods will be simple - tint and clear bra. Future mods will include CAI and exhaust - still trying to figure out which one - then who knows what. Can't wait to get a delivery date, then the car, then post some photos and join y'all in the fun! |

Congrats! You'll definitely enjoy it. My 45th 2SS M6 is my daily driver too...when I'm not driving my Zero motorcycle or riding my bike to work My mod list also started with the full clear bra. I then installed some stealth splash guards and some tint on the rear brake lights, reverse lights and side markers. My most recent was a custom 8-ball shifter as a flashback to my youth! Enjoy and count down the days.

Yes, congrats. I don't regret it a second! As a fellow daily driver, I think our 426 ers are the better choice for that application. I don't really care about mpg; it's miles between fill-ups that's key for me. I get 300-350 miles on a tank, which is fine. Conversely, I had a friend with a Hemi Jeep and he barely got 200. I gotta think the ZL1 is going to be close to that...no thanks.

Welcome, 78Z28, sounds like you ordered an awesome ride, the SS vert is da bomb! When it starts, it sounds like it can do 150+ mph, not that I would ever try.
You'll love the top down driving, great in the fall and spring in Texas! Hope the wait isn't too long, I'm sure the folks in Oshawa are working hard to build your baby. If you're really into it like I am, you'll want to join us at the Camaro Homecoming in Oshawa next June. I went this year and it was a blast, even included two factory tours! Very cool to see where and how our awesome machines are built. Please send pics when you get your ride! p.s. After 1,000 posts and 1,600 miles, I still love this car!

Congrats on the new Camaro Convertible! Now get your order number and have Becky Doyle at Rodgers Chevrolet follow the build. Enjoy the ride of the build as much as you will the car!

I'm sure your going to love it. I would hope that with all the attention the top is getting they would make it a priority to get it right.

I have the exact same one and I love it to death. Surprised the wife doesn't think I'm cheating on her with the random "going for a drive"...

Congrat's, this is my second vert, love it like crazy! Mine is a weekend car only but can't wait to get in it every time! I'm too much of a panzy to modify the car, afraid someone will mess it up somehow, wish my exhaust sounded meaner though.
