Awesome! You should post pictures once you get the parts. Looks like a sweet gaming rig.

Not a problem, glad to help!

Will do! The case should be here tomorrow, but the other stuff got declined by Amex and I needed to resend it.

Oh and thanks to Spartan for answering my questions.
These are almost the exact specs of my new HP Envy except for these items:

HP case (duh)
Nvidia GTX 645
i7-4770 (locked)
PSU is 600W
MB is also MSI Z87 (factory HP)
Internal WiFi
I retrofitted a new, factory HP liquid cooler from last year's HPE series - same as the H50

Seagate Barracuda 1TB, 7200RPM

Entire package was $1450

Hopefully my new PC is showing up today supposedly...not quite as beefy as yours, Mikey!

i7-3770K 3.5GHz, liquid cooled
16 GB DDR3
Nvidia Geforce 670 GTX 2GB GDDR5
2TB 7200rpm HDD. (No SDD for now...)
Blu-ray drive
6 channel surround sound (big deal! What does this go for now, 30 bucks?)
700W PSU
WIN 7 64 bit

The funny part is I haven't had a single problem with my current PC since I mentioned it last- it's been a champ, lol.

I suspect tonight will be spent with my wondrous new cat5 crossover cable, transferring files from one PC to the other. Thank goodness, I kept an old monitor around.

Anyone have advice on OCing a CPU? Already did a 10% OC on the GPU and a 20% OC on the VRAM. I'm seeing a decent increase in performance with that.

First post from mine too I can't decide if I'm going to start transferring files, or play with it. Probably play with it. This thing is lit up like a Christmas tree. I thought that was just for the ads. Big (enormous?) case, plenty of cooling. Pretty quiet, no fuss getting my internet up.

I bought from Microtel. I took pics of it as I was taking it out. I'm not an "unboxing' freak, I just wanted to document it in case anything goes wrong and they try the "it's your fault" routine.

...so, all set up. I can network the two PCs and I've been transferring files. New PC case is big, which I don't mind at all, but it takes up lots of desk space. Fairly quiet, much more so than the old one.

I swapped 20 GB last night. Took 25 minutes to copy them, on my old PC, into a shared file and then about 6 to take them out and put them on my new PC's desktop. I likey.

LA Noire is a big no-go so far. I ran DX11 no problems on the old install. New PC has DX11, but LA Noire won't lauch. I don't think that the update that made DX11 supported has worked. I'll manually move the files and try again.

I'm happy to be running Nvidia again. My Radeon in the old PC simply won't allow some old programs to work but the Nvidia card doesn't even blink at them.

I have the new PC on the desk, 6" from the wall on the side and 8" from the wall on the back. I just don't have a better place for it. Old PC is on a stand, off of the floor, partly under the desk. Kind of goofy setup but I'm liking the 'one PC for online when I want, one for offline when I want' setup. But I miss my old setup, which just had a monitor and speakers on my desk. Now it's 2 monitors, speakers, and a PC!

For anybody having a similar problem with LA Noire loaded from DVD, not Steam-

I checked my file structure, new PC vs Old. The new install never had the patches, even though the game reported that the patches were downloaded.

I deleted my entire LA Noire folder from the new PC and put the LA Noire folder from the old PC in its place. Everything works now. I can see why so many people complained about it when it came out for PC. I guess I was lucky to never have problems on my old PC.

I initially had 'cannot query directX' errors too, even though LA Noire installed directX. I checked, and the PC had DX11. So did my old PC. But LA Noire was running under DX9. I installed another game that uses DX11 and installed DX11 again. That was the end of my DX errors in LA Noire, but then the game failed to launch, which was due to a lack of DX11 patches. Makes me wonder if Rockstar just isn't supporting the game for PC any more, and the pacthes weren't available. Rockstar's support for people having these problems seems pretty unsuccessful. They claim that it's just a rare case of a bad install. I dunno but I had to jump through hoops and luckily my old PC is still working. Only other thing I could have tried was a re-install.
