Angry BMR Springs on 2014 SS..

Last weekend I installed BMR lowering springs on my 14 SS. I went with 1" rear and 1.4" front. My intentions where to eventually put adjustable coil overs on the car. I was torn whether I'd like the lowered stance to begin with, so I opted to go lower spring route just to see if I liked it. I can't say enough about the profile, but not having much luck with front springs. Factory springs seem cut to have a slight cant to them allowing them to sit center on the upper retainer. BMR no matter how you index them will not do this. After a week of driving the car I'm tired of the popping sound coming from the springs every-time I turn left or right. Has anyone else experienced this? I've re-index the springs twice, and after a couple days they go right back to off-center and popping away! I'm a little disappointed.

I have the same set up as you, but have had no popping with 4000 miles on them.

Try messaging BMR on this site. They are very helpful. I would think they could help you correct the problem with some pictures of your setup or swap the springs if that truly is the issue.

Send some pictures to my e-mail of your front springs, specifically where they are seated against the upper retainer, and the part number stamped on the spring itself.

Post on here if you get it figured out. Next time maybe give BMR a chance to make it right before putting them on blast. Many members use this site to research venders and products. Not trying to sound like an a-hole. I hope you get it all sorted out shortly.

Sounds good, I probably won't see them until Monday, but I'll definitely try to help you out the best I can.

I have an 11, but zero issues with my BMR springs, It did take me a little to get them lined up just right on the strut, actually had one move out of it's "proper seated position" during the install and had to unbolt the strut again and re-adjust.

I think LG has a special right now; their G5 coilovers are only $599. That's an amazing price if you won't go to race track with the car.

Yes I did see that. Be honest I'm not that familiar with them so went the Ride Tech route. Read lots of positive reviews about the RTs new (fairly) kit.

I had the same "seating" problem on my front springs (1.25" on a 14 SS.) After looking at it a lot and trying to get them seated as best I could I finally just slapped em back in place and went about my business. I haven't had any of the noise issues you were talking about. Hope the coilovers are working out.
