Look at us all up here in The House talking bout lectric cars and all.

This car will be a rolling battery to do what is claimed. And I would expect that they have given more thought to cooling and the impact on performance.

I'm willing to give this a wait and see.

But again as for the Tesla 2019 Semi, we saw camouflaged 2019 Camaros driving around 6 months ago........and that's for a refresh. We saw early mid engine Corvettes well over a year ago. Haven't seen one truck doing work at a proving ground or field testing yet. But that may be December 31st 2019.

Well, the original Roadster was late. The Model S was late. The Model X was late. The Model 3 was is late.

I'm sure the semi & new Roadster will be right on time ...

According to some folks in the supplier community, Tesla hasn't asked for bids for parts at all.

I have said this here before. I can't wait for battery technology to advance to the point we get virtual instant recharges, about the time it takes to fill a gas tank. Combine that with effective thermal battery management and we have 1,000 RWTQ++++++ at 1 RPM on demand.

I can't wait, but wait we all will.

Thermal management is tough. I cannot give specifics, but in college I was a part of a project at NASA-JSC doing that very thing for LI+, utilizing the 18650 batteries that Tesla uses (or used to anyway). It can be done, but its not easy.

Damn I love thee tech in the HouZe!

At the University of Illinois they have done some interesting research with three-dimensional nanostructure, electroplating lithium-ion battery cathodes and a silicon nanoparticle composites that lead to almost instant charge, high output and self healing. There have to be literally hundreds of similar research teams all working toward the same end result that will have us all grinning from ear to ear.

It is coming, but it isn't here yet.

Despite my doubts of Tesla...I am truly excited for an EV future...there's some really cool stuff coming. Some of it doesn't exist yet.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying every minute of my IC V8 exhaust sounds.

Monday's weather here was gorgeous for the time of the year, so I managed to enjoy hearing many minutes of not only the 427 engine but my '69 302 chambered exhaust as well. A Double Z/28 day....Man what a day!!!

It's not like we didn't realize this, or couldn't guess...but yeah - new article...same news. And nobody who loves Tesla or Musk will accept any of it. Simply because they're clearly the second coming.

They are a niche car company, who hasn't gotten it together, yet...nothing more. There's hope, and promise...but they're also a TON of doubt...A shadow that's getting bigger and bigger as the GM's and Toyota's of the world begin to build more of their own electric cars. Tesla's biggest appeal is the environmentalists' favored Electric Vehicle image. But at some point, maybe when GM's goal of 20 EV's in 5 years is reached (and other manufacturers follow suit)...the market-at-large is going to ask - who needs Tesla?

The biggest concern for Tesla is simply MB, Audi and BMW. When they offer the same range and performance as Tesla, for the same price and the brand image (maybe more), and they will very soon, is Tesla still relevant?

To do what they are doing is incredible. But you have to have such a strong foothold when other catch up that you still have market share.

I think the biggest concern Tesla has is that for the rest of the industry, sedans are failing miserably. SUV/CUVs are the darling of the industry. And Tesla is planning on outselling Accord and Camry..............combined.................with a $35,000 sedan. Their starting point is the very top of the Accord/Camry pricing. I think globally the BMW 3/4 Series sells 400,000 units in the $35,000 and up category. Tesla expects to out do them by another 100,000 units.
