For those that have taken ECS restrictor out

I'd like to get one if your interested in getting rid of it.

I bought a restrictor and filter from ECS for my Vortech. The damn thing works. I gained 1-2 psi every time I would open it up a bit with a Dremel

We have them if needed, they are not expensive.

The reason I want one is so I can repulley my setup to get better low end boost. Im pulleyed 7/3.6 and peak at 9lbs. I want to peak at about what Im at now, maybe 10, but have more than 2lbs of boost at 2-3k rpm. That is the whole idea behind why ECS does their kits that way, max boost sooner and keep it restricted so it wouldnt build to unsafe levels higher up the rpm.

I pulleyed down on my Vortech YSi and added the restrictor since I'm on a stock bottom end. 7.9-2.95 pulleys or something like that but I believe it's spinning the YSi to its sweet spot. Restrictor was 2.75 and got 10psi max with boost gains throughout the RPMs. I took it up to 15psi by opening up the restrictor. More boost throughout the RPMs and launch with more boost at the track.

How long have you been at 15psi? I believe that's were the NOVI 1500 is without a restrictor on 7.8/3.33 setup.

That's correct. The NOVI without the restrictor plate is 15lbs. If anyone is going to go that high, whether it be a NOVI or a YSi, make sure you have enough fuel supply. 15lbs. can last a while if the tune is good.

Ive already got the LPE twin pumps w/ 60lb injectors and will eventually get 85lb injectors before I do anything.

your thinking with a right idea...you can go this route cheaper than gating it. gating it will perform better, but the difference is so minor...unless you want a boost change on the fly, I'd do the restrictor.

Yeah, what Im wanting to do is set mine up like the ECS kits so I can build boost sooner. By my understanding that doing this Ill have twice the boost at 2-3k rpm than I have now and still be 10 or less psi up top.....like I currently have.

what head unit you running? If it's a Novi 1500, you are spot on. If it's a v3 or 1200 you need the 7.8-7.9 lower and I have a 10rib 3.19 upper if you want to try it...problem is, on a v3/1200 you wil start making heat b/c you are falling off the efficiency map of the 1200/v3 head unit.
