Keeps on ticking

Long time ago, there was a Timex watch commercial where they put the watch through something rough and when it was done, the announcer said: "takes a licking and keeps on ticking."
Well, ran my keys through washer (left them in my pocket) and lo and behold, every function still works!

Cameron Swazey was the guy on the commercial. He'd always tie the Timex to a motorboat prop or something.

I flushed mine down the toilet at McDonalds a few years ago (different GM Vehicle), but it got stuck in the trap and fell back out. A little gross, but it worked at least a few more years....until I sold it.

Mine got washed and still work too. I think they might be water resistant...

UPDATE!! Well yesterday, the key fob quit working! Works fine to start the car, but no other functions work. :( Went to the backup. Anyone one know what a new one costs?

One of the best advertising campaigns ever. Sorry to hear it stopped eventually.
