T5 Splitter Install: Would rather not use the supplied rivits!

I'm in the process of painting my splitter and when I install it I would like to use something a little easier to remove later (if necessary), other than the supplied rivets. I've searched the threads and didn't find any info. Yes, the rivets could be drilled out but might as well find an alternative now. What have you used that doesn't involve nuts and bolts as it would be a bit tight getting to the backside. Thanks!

No problem. I bought it from southerncarparts.com (only $35 shipping). I wonder if the snap in clips weren't holding up well.

I just hung up with ACS. They went to the rivets as many, (some), people weren't drilling the correct size holes and the plastic inserts, (scrivets) were failing. He recommended using M8 x 20 bolts and nut instead of the rivets but not to use the scrivets (as he called them). It's be more secure that way. I'll just have to see just how tight it is to get my hand under the lip to tighten the nuts.

could always go this route, very easy to install and would be a breeze to take on and off

we use these on alot of different things on our race cars

You should have gone for the "track pack" to get the metal bolts, nuts, and washers.
Go to home depot and get your own bolts, nuts, and washers. Also get additional rivets and a pop rivet gun

Oh, if your rivets are plastic, spring for the metal ones. Home depot, 3 bucks.

I have the T4 splitter and had rivets with the kit as well. I just went ahead and used 5/16th screwvits. Been holding up nicely after 500 miles @75mph + highway and spirited driving.

I used nuts ,bolts & washers. Put it on in 30 min.been on for two years and still perfect.. It was a little tight reaching my hand in through the front lower grill to tighten the bolts . But it can be done. Good luck.

I have the T4 splitter, bought it in August. Mine came with two plastic rivets to use in the corners, but the rest was nuts and bolts.

I'll probably be removing it to repaint it this summer. When I do I'm going to modify the holes I drilled to use speed nuts. That way removal for the occasional repaint will the simple. I'm 6'-4" and have big hands. Some of those suckers are hard to get to.

Something like this:
