Improving Traction?

Does installing rear cradle bushings and new trailing arms actually improve traction on the street? I know it helps with wheel hop but I'm hoping it will give the car some more bite too? Any feedback would be great.

Improved stability and reduced wheelhop, they won't bite anything or anyone.

They most certainly do; after I did mine I could feel a difference when I stepped on it and I only have a little ol' V6, so I suspect the difference would be even more noticeable in a V8.

Edit: maybe I misread the post, but said upgrades will keep the tires on the ground when accelerating by reducing wheel hop as mentioned, so they'll improve traction from a stop

If you are dropping more torque than the tires can handle they will spin. The only tires I have found that I can not break loose smashing the throttle on my while going about 10-20mph are the MP4S. Even regular Pilot Super Sports I can spin thru.

Running 285/35-20 all the way around.

You're kidding right? I've got 305/35/20 nitto 555R drag radials which are much more sticky than pilots and I can still break them loose and chirp the gears with little effort. Engine is still stock.

peace.

btw - my BFG comp 2's do a good job, especially in the rain...

Those items will help stabilize the rear. The cradle bushings help the IRS feel as part of the car in turns, not follow the cars in turns. Both really helps in autocross that I do a lot of. As to traction I have every part to reduce wheel hop and I don’t seem to have that issue. Traction though? I run RE71R’s 305/30/19 for autocross, I can only leave the start at 1500 rpm to get could bite. Past that no way.

I am talking about when already rolling, not reving up engine and dropping clutch and breaking them loose.

I will have to remember this next time I get new rubber, thanks! I was looking to those tires too.

It is a night and day difference in how the power is put to the ground. IMO yes, it improves every aspect of the handling.

We have near identical setups. I have the sport comp 2 on the front and the nitro 555R on the rear. Same tire pressures!
