Just for show and tell I guess.

I would think that unless the mail slot is widened, it would be insufficient for proper air flow.

Yeah, you're right. Though, perhaps not sealing up the original vent/intake would suffice.

Agreed, but understated...Is there a rash of overheating problems going on we need to even consider this silly idea?

As you mention the V6 ...
Yesterday I read about fuel consumption.
And owner for V6, he gave virtually the same value as my V8.

Then I don't understand why buying a V6 when I can have a V8 under the same operating conditions

Sure ... The purchase price of a new car will probably be more favorable for the V6. But otherwise it is meaningless.

I too love the look of the mail slot, functional or not.

It's just an easy way to identify an SS. Especially when you're just driving by.

I wish I have a mail slot, literally. In the house I grew up built in the 50's, there was a mail slot right next to the main door. We did not have to go out of your house to get the mail.
In my current house (built in 2009), I have to walk out to the curb where I share the mail post with another house. With theft, I had to put a locked box. What a PITA!

There is a kit to make it functional but it's kind if expensive. https://www.phastekperformance.com/2...t-33-4-073.htm

I know some like the clean (no mail slot) look of the hood and can appreciate that too. Everyone’s taste is different but To me this was a great aesthetic that caught my eye. Anyone one else passionate about the mail slot?
