You need to make her think the idea is hers or it isnt going to work. If you start stacking up car parts and boxes, and squeeze a workbench in the laundry room in your apartment she may start to feel the constraints and think in your direction, you know "oh honey the turbos are expensive and I have to keep them at room temperature or I wont be able to install them after the metal contracts/expands you wont even notice them in the corner of the bedroom hehe

Thought marriage was about compromise? Sounds awful to be honest. My wife let's me do whatever I want...cars, bikes, garage. I mean I get yelled at for being down in the garage sometimes, but hell.
