Ok, very stupid question regarding head casting # location
Just looking over my engine (LS3) and noticed that my head's casting numbers (821) are in a different location from when the car had the L99/823 heads installed. I think.
I could swear that on the 823 heads you could look at the front of the driver side head for the casting number. My current 821 heads have the driver side casting number on the rear of the head and the passenger side has the easier to see casting number on the front of the head. I know this is kind of nonsense, but when I noticed this I freaked out for a second and thought my engine builder installed my heads on backwards, which would lead to steam port issues - putting them at the rear of the engine. Common sense prevailed a few seconds later when I realized that if this was the case I would have noticed and had big issues long before I put the 4,000 miles on this new build. Also, even if I was to theoretically swap my heads to the other respective side, the 821 casting marks would still be in the same location...rear drivers side and front passenger side of the heads. Just to confirm - 823 heads, casting numbers on passenger rear/driver front. 821 heads on driver rear/passenger front? Or am I totally remembering the L99 wrong? None of this matters even the slightest bit. It's just for reorganizing my brain.

Now I just need someone with an L99 to confirm theirs.

Alright cool, thanks everyone. Thought I was going crazy for a second there. I know it's a weird thing to think about, but sometimes the stupidest stuff sticks in your head.
