Camaro ranks 8th in all time sales for GM

When you consider how long GM has been in business, with all its brands here and overseas, I think its pretty impressive that Camaro ranks 8th on the list:

In that case you would have to include the Bel-Air, Biscayne, 110, 210 and Caprice and all the old full sized chevys in with the Impala..Right?

8th Grade?! WOW! Now, after reading that pole about ages, I feel old. Thanks

Seriously?! I don't recall ever watching that video, but I'm not suprised to hear that.

In its 100 years in business, General Motors Corp. has sold nearly a half-billion vehicles across the globe. The top sellers as GM approaches its 100th birthday Tuesday:
Vehicle Sales
1. Chevrolet Impala 14 million plus..... mass market car: designed to sell in volume
2. Opel/Vauxhall Corsa 12 million plus ..... mass market car: designed to sell in volume
3. Opel/Vauxhall Astra/Kadett 12 million plus ..... mass market car: designed to sell in volume
4. Oldsmobile Cutlass 11.9 million ..... while not mass market car, the Cutlass was Oldsmobile's "every man's" car... its a shame they chose to keep Saturn instead of Oldsmobile.
5. Opel/Vauxhall Vectra 6.5 million ..... mass market car: designed to sell in volume
6. Chevrolet Cavalier 6.2 million ..... mass market car: designed to sell in volume
7. Buick LeSabre 6.0 million ..... mass market NAMEPLATE: has been on more Buick models than any other Buick name.
8. Chevrolet Camaro 4.8 million .... the only sports/musclecar on this list: marketed to a small segment, embraced by a broader market than GM ever expected.
9. OpelAscona/Vauxhall Vectra 4.4 million ..... how many versions of this nameplate are we going to put on this list?
10. Pontiac Grand Am 4.0 million ..... mass market car: designed to sell in volume
Source: General Motors Corp.

so of the top 10 sellers for GM, there's only one car on there that isn't a mass market car that was specifically designed to meet multiple duties and not come with a 4dr variant: and that is Camaro.

I wonder how many Camaros would have been sold if GM hadn't killed off the nameplate for 6.5 years?

I was actually going to say that, but you beat me to it... Chevy's Silverado/Cheyenne/Scottsdale/C-K series trucks would make this list look silly... if you even just counted up the Suburbans (and used the GMC Suburban and Yukon XL), it would get even funnier.

I really believe that they only counted the cars for this list... which is silly, because GM sells more than just cars... lol

Don't know why, but

"16 in the clip and one in the hole
Nate Dog is about to make some bodies turn cold..."

The next stop is the east side....motel....."""

I can sit here and recite the Impala, but CAN'T remember the name and I'm going to be kicking myself when someone lends me a hand....

anyone?
