Paint Chip Poll by color

I thought that with the many paint chip issues people are reporting on the 2010 Camaro it would be interesting to see a break down by color.

Black will have the most because there are more black Camaro's than any other color.

This is not a bad idea but we also need to get the cars that are chipping MIL tested for paint thickness. Whenever there is a paint problem the first thing our paint rep does is MIL test it. The test will tell what the painter (or robot) did or did not do correctly. Too thick? Too thin? Uneven? The test tells the tale. PM me if you are interested in getting this done. A few have and we have some very interesting results, but we need more data.

My color is not listed - it would have been no chip issues.

The color has nothing to do with chipping. It's pre paint adheasion/prep process that causes chips not the color in my opinion. Also the build date might be important. Mine was built 8/4/09 and has only one hood chip after 8,000+ miles. My body parts also match perfectly. A lot of guessing here but paint color- no way.

My unscientific poll proves you wrong.

Moral of the story: Don't buy black or yellow.
