Looking forward to meeting you!

I just got the new link for the donation page through Fisher House

www.teamfisherhouse.org/goto/SynergySquadron

Down to less than 3 weeks! And looks like a lot of Camaro's have this date on their calendar! Let's keep the ball rolling

Looks like my wife beat me to it again!

I'm seeing a lot of new names appearing and I'm real pleased to see that. This will be a good opportunity for some new folks to come out and meet the rest of our fun little community. There's always something fun going on; like cruises, car shows, and casual little "just because" meets like this. Not to mention some real great people.

I also wanted to remind everyone of our "event within an event'': The gathering of the Synergy Green Camaros to benefit Fisher House. Since it's getting down to the wire, I'd appreciate it if the SGMs attending would sound off here to let me know you haven't forgotten. It would save me some PMs.

I know Dragonlady posted the link, but for some reason it doesn't work if you click on it, so I will post it again. The page gives a little background on what we are doing, that will bring you up to speed if you didn't already know.

http://www.teamfisherhouse.org/goto/SynergySquadron

And just a little reminder: This is a free event. Donations are of course welcome, but not required. Also; It's open to everyone. As I have said "all generations of Camaros, Chevys, or any other car that you love and would like to show off, is welcome.

Oh, and you don't have to eat at Wally's...but trust me, you'll want to! Name: smiley-eatdrink053.gif

For those of you that didn't know - my husband served in the US Navy for 27 (1/2!) years. During his last tour of duty aboard the USS Alabama we had the pleasure of meeting a young couple starting out their Navy career on the Alabama.

Here is a brief bit of their story:

11:39am
Liz Jones
14 September, 2011 Jason Jones was admitted to Madigan Army Hospital after a motorcycle accident. When word of his accident reached his family, his wife, mother and father and mother-in-law rushed to Washington to be with him. Upon our arrival we were met with members of the Fisher House who provided us with rooms while our loved one was in the hospital. The staff was exceptionally understanding, friendly and helpful during this troubling time. We were provided a very homey room where we were able to cook meals and just feel, “at home away from home”. It gave us a place to relax and unwind after long, stressful days at the hospital. The folks at the Fisher House certainly made our stay much easier than if we had to find a hotel room.

Another update:
We are planning a raffle, with all the proceeds going into the Fisher House fundraiser. My wonderful helpers have been out scouring the countryside for donations of things to raffle. The Fbodfather himself got into the action by connecting us with an executive at Chevrolet. (I know...holy...cow!) So I'm hoping Chevy will come though with some good stuff for us. Keep your fingers crossed!
But there's no reason to wait for GM. If anyone out there has any connections for stuff to donate to the raffle, let us know what you can do. Any businesses that donate will be duly recognized.

Now as for the Synergys...

Last month, in Sturgis, SD, this happened:

Count the tires. You will see that there are 8 SGM Camaros lined up for this shot. That's ONE more than we did last year.

Two of the cars in this picture were actually at Wally's last year; ours and Forged Reality. So now we know what we have to beat. I have no doubt we can do it, seeing as we actually drew an equal number of SGMs last year. (Just weren't able to get them all in the picture.) So this year, we have to get at least 9. I think we can do it, no problem. And I'm going to go out on a limb and say we can do even more than that. There's enough around here, we just need you to show up.

So do you think we can do it? And how many do you think we'll get?

That's a gorgeous Camaro! Looking forward to seeing it. I don't care if you have to trailer it, bring it!
And tell all your second gen friends that they are welcome to come too. Hope the test & tune goes well, and you don't break anything!

Looks as though the maybe list is growing. We're less than 10 days to our event. I don't think our "maybe's" will be showing up. Just sayin'.

The good thing is that the attending list has been growing steadily as well. I just did a little editing on the "maybe" list, and I'm waiting on some responses before doing some more. We've been hitting individual Camaros, and some strategic places with flyers, so there's no telling how many might just show up.
