Arrow '14 AGM 1SS/1LE Track build [COTW 11/17/14]

I have been collecting all sorts of parts for the '15 1SS/1LE I had on order, but since the dealer turned out to be greedy, the deal fell apart. Anyways, long story short, I finally got my 1LE in the guise of a 2014 Ashen-Gray Metallic 1SS 1LE at 6500 miles, and I already have all but few parts to finish the build! It turns out, though, the issue with Camaro builds is not finding parts, but rather doing the installation.

Pics from the day I picked it up:

How it currently looks (8/23/15):

I had to ship the BC Racing ER coilovers back to the vendor's warehouse last Friday. They (Q04) do not fit since the reservoirs do not clear the rear suspension. The vendor claims they do have ER coilovers for '14+ Camaros (Q10), but I only see BR available under Q10. The updated application list is here.

Here is hoping they indeed have coilovers that fit! If not, I suppose they could also replace the hose of the reservoir with a bit longer one, so I could put it in a place where it would clear; I would not mind. FYI, I cannot just replace the connecting hose myself since it is pressurized and I'm not in the business of valving coilovers

As I mentioned before, this build will be challenging due to extensive labor it requires. I am starting to have anxiety! : )

Now that the rear suspension bushings are done, I'd like to tackle the fronts. In the instructions, it states that I need to jack the engine a bit up to clear the sway bars. If this is the case, I think I might as well bundle it with the oil pan baffle job.

Synner's thread here has great info about how to install the baffle without having to cut the cross-bar. I intend to do something similar, following MAPerformance's turbo install instructions, where they show how the oil pan can be removed with a bar or an engine cherry-pick.

I bought 2-jaw and 3-jaw bearing pullers in various sized from Harbor Freight. Let's hope that they work fine on the remaining front bushings.

Oil baffle:

Bearing pullers (the jaws' directions are reversible):

Looking good!

Curious about the smart-fuse as a $1 remedy for the skip-shift issue. Care to share? Looking to do this to mine.

Thanks!

Sure, the skipshift operation is controlled by a simple solenoid which has its own fuse. If you remove the fuse, it would disable the skipshift, but also light up check engine light. Smart fuse allows a very low current to still pass through to light up its LED even when it's blown. This current will not be enough to engage skipshift, but will let the engine diagnostics think that everything is good.

It should state manual transmission solenoid. Don't forget to blow the fuse before installing it! Last time I did this (on a C6 Z06), I used my portable battery jumper to blow it (after which it is lit).

Sounds good! Thanks for the info! I've got a battery jumper as well so I'll give it a shot

Hmm just looked in the manual and couldn't find anything that stated manual transmission solenoid for any fuse. Any chance you got the fuse number?

Did you get the Dewitt's radiator yet?

Better check it and make sure it has the .625 outlet on the drivers side
For the oil cooler heat exchanger, the 1LE s use a zl1 type set up
I had to get a Ron Davis rad , which was a huge upgrade over stock
And fit perfect

It seems to have it; I sure hope it fits with no issues. The core looks massive!

I finally received the jack adapters (with magnets), too. It was very painful (but possible) to lift the car without them...
