Minor info on the C7 Vette....
Check out the time table and the price.
http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-new...e-ar39712.html Some could read that as pulling the prices of the Vette's upward to create a little more room for the Camaro pricing to fit in.... |

First off, I would be willing to bet all of my photoshops, that that picture is of a toy Corvette...
Secondly, nice find. But that article is supposed to be about the "Monster Vette", not the regular Vette (of which it said nothing about prices). But having said that. I never thought about GM doing that. It's a possibility, but I doubt they'd raise the prices very far at all. |

Not that I've ever seen.
The "Super-Vette", as far as I've seen, looks like a C6, just "hopped-up", if you will. |

Well...Winding Road magazine had the pix of a make believe C7 and a Supervette. That's about as far as I've ever seen...they are posted up here somewhere...

They won't do that....GM should build a similar car, but not as the Corvette.
Anyone remember awhile back when Porsche wanted to drop the 911 name and change the layout? Porsche owners and fans went crazy with a write in/call in campaign (not an organized one either, just a bunch of people really serious about their Porsches) to get that stopped. Here we are almost 10 years later and the 911 is still around--although most go by Carrera, Carrera S, Turbo, GT3, etc--but it's engine is still in the back. That's called tradition. Now look, Porsche wanted a mid-engine car, so they create the Carrera GT and then the Cayman...new vehicles to expand the lineup...and they sell every one of them. I would say GM should drop the XLR (it looks good, but is overrated and it underperforms), make this car (with a different front end) and call it the Cien (wait, didn't they do this for a show car awhile back....). The Corvette has always been, is, and always will be a front engine sports car. Just like it did with the 911, tradition says so. |
