When calibrations are done right.....
We had a customer this week bring us a GEN5 Camaro that he recently installed a stroker motor and Edelbrock TVS2300 supercharger. The car came from another shop who was hired to calibrate the car. After a few days of struggle the customer brought us the car to check out....
Here is the before and afterwards of there calibration vs. ours.... Wait until this guy comes back from vacation this week! I had to post this as this guy just got railed and its really upsetting that shops can continue to operate with this kind of work..... Howard |

This has been going on for years. How some shops continue to stay in business surprises me. Nice thread on the HPT forum about this same crap. Props to Redline. |

Nice tune...
question for the pro's... Given a choice which super charger would you go with for the Camaro V8.. also given smog laws it would need to still pass.. SLP? Edelbrock? ect.. looking at the SLP but its stage one only supplies 6 pounds of boost.. would like to see more along the lines of 8 to 9 pounds of boost. Dont really want to get to the point of changing the injectors and cam.. want to keep this somewhat reasonable for the street.. then there is the second camaro that I am gong to build for racing.. what supercharger would you use there as well.. thanks guys.. New to this forum,, but an old guy, so if I am asking questions that seem stupid bare with me.. as I have had a lot of fumes from my nitro funny car days...

A roots blower on a 4000 lb car is a good choice. Rear wheel torque rules the street and a roots will get the job done over a centrifugal. It's a big enough blower to make 525 plus rear wheel. It also utilizes the Eaton 2300 TVS rotors which surely have been proven to be long lasting. I also feel there brackets and hose connections are far superior. Now if you wanted to make upwards of 800 HP there are better options. It's also built in the USA and is 50 state emissions legal. Just my .02... Howard |

Great job Howard, these other shops need to spend some time at Greg's Calibrated Success classes to learn how to accurately tune these vehicles, as we have. Another fine vehicle out of Redline's shop, keep up the great work.

It would be nice if tere weren't so many fly by night tuners. I have seen some tunes from the bigs shops that look like crap.
If you know the fundamentals of tuning then the cars will drive, run, and make great power. Howard knows how to do all of these things. He is one of the best. Shawn |

I'll get the check sent out to you posting that! LOL! I think a lot of the issue is also that its one thing to understand the electronics but its another to understand engine dynamics. You need to put yourself inside the combustion chamber and understand whats happening and its effects on power output. HT |

There is no question that the Whipple out performs every single SC currently on the market in Roots/Twin Screw configuration. There is MINIMAL HP/TQ difference down low and above 3500 it shines in terms of power making capability and intake air temperatures. The install of the Whipple is also the cleanest looking IMO and uses OEM factory hoses, hose connections, etc. At the same boost level, on the same day the Eforce and Maggy car run around 160* F and the Whipple car runs around 136F. Let me know how I can help. |

For the poster, I should have mentioned that Edelbrock and Whipple, when using factory airboxes and exhaust will pass emissions and come with CARB certificates as well as engine warranties when using their tune and not changing anything from the kit as it is supplied. The Whipple does this with the 8psi desired Last edited by Meister@Torq; 08-07-2012 at 07:12 AM. |
