LOL I myself need lessons. I have been struggling with getting my 60ft down. the more you practice and experiment different things, the more you learn.

I can tell you this. make sure your tire pressure is right and make sure you slip the clutch (not recommended on stock clutch, but I would still do it... just make sure you let the clutch cool down after each run). those are the two main things ive learned that helped me lower my 60ft times. but the most important thing is DONT BE AFRAID. I had this problem at first where I was afraid ill break something, but when i got over my fears I started to do better.

for street tires i would start at 25psi and go down. (on my Z06 i had them at 22psi and they worked great) on DRs I would start at 20 maybe and go down. from reading it seems like 18 is where most people get the best out of them. of course every car/tire is different.

Nice pics! My wife took all the shots while we were there, so I have none to upload myself. HUGE turnout!!! Can't wait 'til June. Still a longshot to finish my car before then, but there were so many cool, and so many weird, cars up there. I seriously think the 80's are back...lol

GL cant wait to get my car back, I want to hit 10s N/a this season
No that is on Nitto DR 305's actually. And believe me I know the 60's suck and ran much faster 60 ft times last year in the 1.7 and 1.8 range before the bottom end of the engine let loose and my clutch burned up. Now with the new build I am throwing over 700 lbs of torque and 600+ HP at launch and am learning a new clutch. The first three runs of the year Harry was experiencing extreme wheel hop to the point that the back end was bouncing off the full compressed springs. Which in turn was causing my stock trailing arms and toe links to flex which was causing the camber to freak out and I was not making good contact with the track. We installed BMR suspension parts Friday and went out Friday night to check it out. They seem to have fixed the wheel hop issue and are now hooking up much better. However, I still have to learn the clutch and find my optimum launch RPM's I feel very good about the set up now and just need to get out there and play around until i find the right combo. Bottom line clearly the HP and trap speed are there and now I just need to get it to the track and chew the 60's down and the ET's will follow.

HEY! Don't be hating on Wyo. Here's one benefit that isn't enjoyed in Colo....when I set out to drive somewhere, I can set the cruise control and drive 140 miles in 2 hours. You can have that traffic down there. We've got all the perks and none of the hassle.

Harry took everything I threw at him so I will just need to keep increasing my rpm's at launch until I find the magic number.[/B]
Larry that car is a monster and I can't wait to see you run this weekend in the stick shift. Power to the ground!

While alot of you guys, want to make your Camaro, bigger and badder.....I am a stock kind of guy. Just want to cherish it, cruise it, and enjoy it with my family. Look forward to meeting you guys at one of the future events!
LRod. You're not alone in your philosophy although this thread is often dominated by talk of mods. I'm still bone stock. Not even a tune! My goal is to still have this car, like it came off the line, in 40 years. Although some on here have already informed me that my car won't be worth any more original than a restored one will be +40. Time will tell.

This is a great group of folks from all perspectives and experiences "living the Camaro life" as Larry coined so well. Somethin' here for everyone.

Tom, just my opinion....worry less about your 60' times and concentrate more on running the same number consistently. Especially if you're going to bracket race because it's all about running your dial in.

If you're street racing then you'll have to decide if burning up your stock clutch to gain an extra couple hundreths of a second in your 60' is worth the price.

GREAT pictures of Golden! We were watching some nice rides drive by on I-70 from Bandimere.

Only one way to settle this, both ya show up for a real race and do the whole show. Lights, dial in and running each other to the line.

Sorry my version of drag racing.....when cars are this closely matched...is to pull to the line and have at it. Now racing the major modified then I'm all for the dial in stuff. Once I get a few things in sync neither of them have a shot. that's the beauty of the manual.I know I've got more to offer Kirk knows the best he'll get is what he already put down. That's what you get with a step on the gas and go car. Eat that Don(oop's) I'm meant Kirk!
