A little knowledge please!

Hello everyone. I have a 2011 SS Convertible. Later than sooner, I want to get a Super Charger. Too much money right now. Anyway, I have Kooks LT headers and Catback, a K&N CAI, a computer tune, and a 160 degree thermostat.

After talking to a few want to be mechanics, they said I should get a Cam.
So, would getting a Cam wake my car up a little more? What type of Cam? Do I need to get anything else when I get a Cam?

Obviously cost is huge. But can anyone give me a ballpark figure and time frame the job would take? I'm going through Rad treatment, so I have to really budget well. I appreciate the help in advance! Thank you!

A cam installed will cost you about $1500-$1800. Depending on the cam it will wake it up, but it won't drive the same. One thing about a supercharger is that it drives like a daily driver until you step on the gas pedal. Mine is 546/rwhp without a cam. It's enough for the street and me.

That would be perfect to me as well. I just know SC cost $6,000.00 and up :-(

Yes, but a lot more HP than a cam.

It's like buying a used car. You never know what you'll get.

I've been going to ECS. They told me, I'd have a good chance of blowing my Trans if I went with the cam.

Really? I guess Im going to bring mine back...

You won't blow your transmission if tuned right. Also remember if you decide to cam first you should think about blower cams if your going to get blown later. Im over 600rwhp with a very conservative tune till funds allow beefing up drivetrain.
