tlavoie87, good to see you're still on the Camaro5 fourm. I was (and still am) surprised that there was not more involvement from other members regarding this swap.
If you would be so kind, I have a couple questions regarding your swap. Do you still have your Camaro? Did you purchase a new or used engine? Do you need to need to purchase a new transmission or could you use your existing transmission? How long ago did you do your swap? How many miles did you put on it after the swap? Did any problems come up after you were done? Thanks in advance.

I gave my Camaro to my son nearly 5 years ago. It is closing in on 280,000 miles.

I'm seriously considering doing this, do you have a thread on the build?

now with the ability to disable vats with hptuners the swap is pretty straight forward.. even dropping a V8 in would be pretty straight forward..
iv had mine LFX and Delphi swapped for about a year i did turbo charge it and hurt a few motors in that time but thats due to too much boost..

Sorry to resurrect a post, but can you substitute an LFX short-block, and
bolt all your LLT stuff up to it? The head gaskets are the same, so that seems to indicate the LLT heads will bolt on. Just wondering... |

You can indeed, in swapping to an LFX block/ECU but slapping some built LLT heads on so I can keep my 'tubes.

You don't have to, but I'm doing all this for performance reasons and would like the better tunability of the Delphi. Plus I already have it, so may as well lol

Was that a lengthy process? I know dropping the whole LFX motor
in to swap out an LLT is a lot more involved. SO, an LFX block, LFX intake manifold, LLT heads, and LFX ECU (harness too?). |

You can use either ECU, some have done full LFX swaps with the LLT ecu

I have been reading it's not an easy swap, LLT to LFX... Was told you HAVE to
use the Delphi ECU if you swap the whole motor to LFX. Just wondering, in case it comes to it one day, seeing as the LLTs have that timing chain issue. |

It's JUST the timing chain that is the issue, and they fixed it in late 2011. It's more due to the oil quality, time before changes, and the fact that the LFX has a low oil sensor while the LLT does not. I'm cammed and over 100k miles, stock chains. And you can for sure use the original ECU if you swap in an LFX, I'd swap the ECU anyway though just because it's tons better
