two reasons
1) they put 87 octane fuel in it at dealerships (0-60 time of about 6 seconds with 87.. around 4.6-4.7 seconds with 93) 2) my car felt pretty slow the first 3,000 miles or so. after it broke in it became a different beast.. if i floor it in first it'll do a burnout all the way down the block on brand new pirellis.

Yep, I tried to make the numbers work for me as I wanted the ZL1 but couldn't find the extra $25 grand without a Divorce lawyer.......so I had to compromise to a 2SS L99. Right now, have the AFM disable device (Range) and planning both a CAI and Borla exhaust. Once the warranty expires, a supercharger and long tube headers will be the only other additions. It's my daily driver and has to be for a while, so I still need dependability to be my 1st priority.

When I first bought mine I also felt like it was a little lacking in engine performance but where as I was planning on doing engine work it didn't matter much. After a few tanks of good gas, a fuse pull and some beak in miles it wakes up and is like a whole different car.

Well maybe you should learn how to drive because 5th and 6th gear are over drive gears they're not ment for acceleration

Ive owned both a v6 and a v8 both autos. Sorry I disagree with you. The v6 is fast for a 6 banger but compared to the v8, not even close. Do a fuse pull on that v8, and it'll change everything you mentioned. My SS has performance mods including a tune and its not even the same car. No worries here. Love my L99

Its worth it to get the eight, just so you don't have to explain why you didn't. Kinda like the OP here...
Same as not getting a Hemi or buying a metric cruiser instead of a Harley. All require explanations or excuses...

Probably had 87 octane fuel in it from the dealer, a fuse pull would completely change your mind. No way a V6 is in the same league as a 400HP V8.

When looking to purchase my Gen5, a V6 was not even considered. The DD is the V6!

Having owned a LT before I upgraded to the SS, I have to disagree. Before I would consistently red line the V6. Now I barely crack 3,000 RPMS and I'm not sure I ever have had the peddle to the metal.
Now the V6 is a great car and gets around but I think there a fairly noticeable difference. #NoReplacementForDisplacement |

I'm not sure what the LS3, L99 and what not mean but...
I rented a 2014 camaro while traveling in upstate New York for business and it was an LS? I fell in love with that car. Got another free upgrade during my trip to Louisiana sealed the deal. I begin to hunt one down and found a 13' 1SS because I hated the 14 body style... While at the lot checking out the very specific car I hunted down they showed me the 14' 2SS I liked the body on this one.... Drive it and quickly cheated my mind and signed the dotted line for the 2SS Never looked back! Different strikes for different folks...
