Wow! Wow! Wow!
You have an incredible car! I have intended since ordering to do Sunrise. In fact, going to see my paint man today to feel out is enthusiasm. If he is actually the guy, I'm jumping in after the first of the year. The time to do it for me is when the weather gets crappy after Christmas and when I won't be driving it alot anyway. May be sending you some PM's for tips. I can't say enough about how great your ride looks! Your car really does make my factory RY look anemic! |

I think I speak for all the enthusiasts here. I say, for the sake of providing a great aftermarket forum sticky, there should be a Bumblebee paint scheme section or stick with Paint Name, manufacture, and estimated cost. Then if Hiney and or his paint guy could, put a step by step on what to do with the tear-down, the painting process, tips, problems or hangups to look out for, schematics for the stripes, etc. This would be a great step in proving the the answers to all these questions. From what I gather, although unofficially, Fbodather has endorsed Hiney's car as being the correct paint and best scheme or job yet of replicating the Bumblebee paint scheme. For those of us who want to do this for our cars, this would be a great tool. Moderators, what do you think? Hiney, how would you like to pioneer this venture as you are the envy of many this week? I'm all for it and I would appreciate it greatly.
For all intents and purposes, This can be "the official 'unofficial' Bumblebee Paint scheme" directions. Moderators or authors will just have to disclame that they are not endorsed officially by anyone e.i. GM, Transformers movie franchise, House of Kolours, Hiney's buddy's shop and that all enhancments made to their car are done at the risk and knowledge of the owner that it may void some warrantee depending on the tear down. So, with that being said I say you got some thing here. I'll be one of the first to unitize that forum post.

I would love to see this process documented with a Sticky. I for one am not terribly concerned that the House of Kolors, Shimrin Pearl "Sunrise" is, or isn't the precise color. I'm confident that it is. My primary concerns are the step by step stripping and painting process and complete mechanical tear down and reassembly. Since the Mole won't be there to supervise my body man on the mechanical work, any tips or hazards to be aware of would be greatly useful.
