selling car!!
Hey all i have some upsetting news. I am planning on selling my 2010 camaro ls with 13500 miles on it. it is in very good condition with a decent amount of mods. I was wondering what you guys think i can get for it. i also was wondering if mods make the retail price higher or lower. thanks... i am doing this for a 2008 335xi hopefully

I am glad I did since every other car is a freaking BMW. Stick with the Camaro, way more fun!! Regarding what you should get is what people/dealers are willing to pay. I just saw one sold for $21k with only 20k miles on it. If it is in good shape expect about $25k, imho. |

JFTR A 2013 1LS base price is $24,245, 2LS (automatic trans) is $24,445. Don't think you'll get anywhere near $25K for a 3 model year old used LS.
As for mods it is kind of rare for them to increase a cars value, more likely to have a detrimental affect. Depends on the mods and if you can find someone who'd have mod'ed it exactly the same as you, otherwise they're going to be figuring out how much it's going to cost them to undo your mods to suit their tastes and deducting that from what they'd pay for yours. Whats to keep someone, even if they do like your mods and plan on keeping them, from citing them as a reason why they'd offer your less money for it as a bargaining chip. That's how you barter. We have a Dodge dealer here in California with an 2010 IOM Camaro 1LS manual with 19k miles and they are asking $21,900.

and they would take $18k in a heartbeat. Asking ain't getting. Better pull up Kelley Blue Book and NADA to start getting averages for prices. Most mods cost you money, as most people like stock cars to start from, unless you get lucky and find the right buyer.

Look at comparables on AutoTrader.com, or check NADA. Don't expect to get your money back on mods unless you find someone looking for that configuration. When possible, you're better off returning the car to stock and selling the mods separately.

Mods will add $0 value to your car. Book value is all you should expect to get. Before you sell or trade, try and replace as many parts back with your stock parts and sell the aftermarket parts. You will get about half of what you paid for them.

Just be aware of the costs of maintaining/repairing the BMW compared to your Camaro. Good luck with whatever your decision is.

OH BMWs.....
Their cars are a dime a dozen anymore. And many of the owners are so "ashamed" of the car they own they have to remove the numbers all the time so "someone" won't know they bought a 325 instead of a 335...like it matters BMW owners make me facepalm anymore. Sadly...I've noticed Subaru drivers doing it too now.

yup. because the dealer wont care about the mods. you will get more if you find a local buyer. but plan on taking a hit with the dealership. take off the mods and get a couple thousand on the side. any pics of your car?

If you are trading it in, expect a $17,000 offer from the dealer.
Mods add nothing to the value of the car. |

Why 335xi? Their xDrive is known to have problems on top of the turbo, and you are getting one that's almost out of warranty...... really bad idea......
