Saw this in the wild today

Coming back from a business trip to Oceanside CA, I saw this on I-15.

Looks like a 2019 with a different looking front end maybe?... and them lights... I dig those lights... looks almost like a late 4th gen the way they were shaped and lighting up.

Never seen one of these before. Looked aggressive even if it wasn't a V8... at least I don't think... didn't have any identifying emblems. That cowl seemed taller too than what i've seen on 6th gens...

Here are some pics, unfortunately from my rear view because the guy was driving like a grandma doing 65... tried to slow down for a better look but had traffic behind me and was way ahead of him before I knew it.

Thats the standard front end for non SS/RS models for 2019. I like the headlights just not the gaping hole that Chevy calls a "Grille" Im just glad Chevy moved to standard LED's for low and high beam.

Looks like the LS to me. The non-V8 front end looks better imo, but those base model headlights look goofy.

Saw a silver and a white 2019 SS last Friday. The silver one looked like they had rear ended someone. I talked to the owner of the white one in the parking lot of Best Buy. He 3D printed a plug for the bowtie and wrapped the black cross bar in white vinyl. Then put a small bowtie in the center of the grill. I think he said it was one meant for the trunk lid. He said he next project was to figure out how to get rid of the gap in the DRL's.

Those LS/RS headlights are a monstrosity, looks almost like an afterthought.

I was thinking the whole refresh is an afterthought and monstrosity. But maybe that's just me.

to me that's the best looking version, but that isn't saying much, and i wouldn't own it either.

The V6 looks fine to me, but looks aren't everything.

I don't want a car without fog lights.

They also went back to the old 1LS/2LS style 18" aluminum wheels on the base versions for '19.

From the exterior, the way the car looks, there’s NOTHING that says muscle car.

Scrap the entire car, start from scratch.

I see that front and expect it to start talking like the movie cars. The original pic behind the OP looks good but that picture of it Thatmaro posted is a rough looking front.

It’ll probably be extinct pretty soon anyway. I wonder who the next suitor will be for GM for pennies on the dollar? I think if the Gov’t goes their bail this time there’ll be a revolution.
