Well, I finally figured mine out. These older Genies have a separate box for the receiver.

What I thought was the antenna was actually the wires that connect to the receiver box. The previous owner had stuffed the it under the insulation.

It was a newer receiver and had a button on it

If you have a similar separate box, just take the cover off of it and it's an unmarked button mounted directly to the circuit board. Push it and a red led will blink. Push the button you just used with the remote and viola.

Is that option only on SS model

I totally forgot to come back on Sat to tell you what you posted! I got it working too. Yup, popped the cover off and had my buddy push the button.

I was so pumped, less crap to have in my beautiful Camaro!

Glad we were able to figure out these Genies!

I believe 2LT and 2SS models get the Homelink.

mine has been working fie. Had to press the button on the opener itself, but it works.
