Thanks Stephen, but after looking at it a few times, I can see where I may be able to pick up a little more at launch. I'm still real happy with the run though.

I know when I went to Cecil County with my M6 I thought I could get into the 11's stock. In the end, I was lucky to pull off a 12.38. I definitely want to try again before I start modding.

Well this Saturday will be their last for the season, why not give it a try? I plan on being there...just not sure which Camaro I'll bring.

Congrats on the great times. I love Cecil in November

Quick question for you...What traction/stabilitrack/PTM combo did you use for the runs?

I've read some people remove their ABS fuses (I'm not interested in that), run with all nannies off (button press and hold) or run with PTM 5.

In my CTS V I ran with all nannies off (traction control and stabilitrack) but left ABS fuses in.

Thanks in advance and congrats again.
Chris

Thanks Chris. Yeah, Cecil is able to get a cold track to hook better than others when it's warm.

I don't pull any fuses, I just turn everything off to do the burnout, then I go back to PTM5 to race.

Dave - Can you elaborate a little on what you do between runs? Cooldown, icing, target coolant temp when in the staging lanes and about to stage etc.

Do you find you are hooking on the 1-2 shift on street tires?

I'm debating how far I can get my car bone stock (though I will have a catchcan installed) versus selling my existing stock rear tires brand new and picking up a set of 315 nitto 555R drag radials as a daily driving tire.

Cheers,
Chris

I guess it all depends on how cold/hot it is outside. The day I ran these times, it was in the low 40s. After making the pass, just driving the car down the return road and back up to the starting line was enough to circulate enough air through the engine bay to keep things relatively cool. On a warmer day, when possible, I allow the car to cool for at least a half hour - 45 minutes, then I pull straight up to the line. I always try to get to the front of the line before making a run. If I have to be too far back, the heat soak will ruin things before I can even make a pass.
Remember, the stock tires need a lot of heat. The only downside to doing a massive burnout is the heat buildup under the hood. I just purchased a set of much shorter hoosiers to see if I can improve on my best 60' so far. We'll find out in march just how well they work.

I don't know how I missed this post. Thanks again for the information. I try to let the car sit for around 30-45 minutes as well with ice on the intake and get to the front of the line. I'm excited to try the car when the track opens. I'll follow your suggested tire pressure, PTM settings and launch and report back.
