1LE for FS Autox - Diff Oil

Hey guys,

I have been searching the forum like crazy looking for a solid answer on this and havent really been able to find one, so here goes.

1) What is the 1LE differential? Is it the same one as the ZL1 or the Z28?

2) Which differential oil have other 1LE owners here used for their car? Did you put in a friction modifier or not?

I currently eyeing either Redline 75w-90NS (https://www.amazon.com/Red-Line-Limi...=redline+75w90) or the Royal Purple 75w-90.

Also, some input on trans oil would help, seems like the two favorites here are Redline D4 ATF or RP.

Thanks everyone and happy to be here.

Differential is the same as the SS, the gearing is different, 3:91 is what comes with the 1LE.
I use what’s in the manual,Name: 053AF722-C087-4D5B-91FE-2C8750C1ECD7.jpg

I bought my 1LE second hand and changed all of the fluids myself to set up for autocross. When I did the diff I used the oem fluid that comes with the friction modifiers already in it after reading about a bunch of people having issues with different fluids. Works great for me. Part number: 88862624. Redline D4 in the transmission is also what I run.

You can use Amsoil with the weight stated in all Camaros except the ZL1.

RP here, handles track days well so far. No noise, no known issues.

Swapped my stock SS diff with 3.91's on an Eaton True Trac, went with RP here also.

Zero complaints, zero issues.

I ended up going with Redline D4 ATF for the trans and AC Delco oil and additive for the diff. I figured since the car is still under warranty, i would rather run the prescribed fluid and not risk getting denied a warranty claim in case something goes wrong.

Thanks everyone for the input and clarification.
