And meguiars smooth surface clay kit as well as the ultimate liquid wax. I work 60/week so since auto zone is right next door I just grab and go. SOO question. Do I HAVE to polish? Or can I just wash clay wax. I heard you didn't really have to since its new. I never clayed. Never waxed/or polished EVER. Lol
Check out the detailing/cosmetic maintenance section. Matt aka CamaroDreams07 put together a detailing step by step process that will do you good. He also put a comprehensive product list of what he recommends. But in a short answer, no polish never unless you have swirls marks and clear coat scratches. Seeing that you are new to detailing, I wouldn't even waste the time polishing because by hand it wont do any good. You need a dual action polisher. If you go outside and in the sun you don't see any swirls and scratches, then no polish needed. You can wash, don't dry just start doing ur clay process and when ur done wax. Be careful with the microfiber towels u will use cuz they cab scratch ur clear coat. Tom when I am done I'll have before and after pics and u can see when polishing is needed

BTW guys I gave up for today. Not done yet. Still need to polish driver side. Then seal and wait 12 for wax. Man. I don't know how detailer do this for living. Given its my very first time doing and I am being extra picky and repeating the process until im satisfied. But here's some progress shots. Zoom in and see the swirls from the light reflection
Before:
After

No swirls

Looking good!

Don't be concerned with how long it takes, only be concerned with the results.

Thank you Nick. I am done finally... After a long time... The results are amazing. I am sooo damn happy with it.. Will get some pics later in the sun. But overall I think I got 85 percent of imperfections out which is really good. Will wait a wk and put the wax. Right now I put sealant

One question tho, 1 of each of my 5.5 and 4 orange pads are destroyed. I used two of each to finish the job but is that normal?

What are those pads and how old were they? I've never done that to a pad.

The orange turn out like that. And then the second orange of the big one has like a dent in the middle.. Weird.. Guess I'll be buying different pads next time. However the white ones are OK. No issues
