So I guess it's blown 6.2s for everyone now.

Was looking forward to this car and am really disappointed by it.

The introduction was painful to say the least but what about the car itself disappoints you? Is it simply because it is F/I? And if so, what about F/I do you dislike so much that the totality of the what the car provides is irreparable damaged by the F/I aspect? I have been on many, many car forums and part of many different car clubs throughout the years and I am genuinely interested in why so many on Camaro5 dislike F/I motors. Especially when the rest of the cars (ZL1 and the now Z06 Vette) "total package" seems to be very, very nice.

I am not trying to incite an argument, just trying to better understand. I exchanged replies with Norm and he seems to see F/I as a crutch to generate more HP to compensate for ones inability to maximize a cars performance ability from the drivers seat. While I totally respect his freedom to think that way, I think it can take just as much skill to correctly use the additional HP as it does to compensate for not having it. Do you consider F/I to be a "cheat" as well or is there something else that you do not like regarding F/I?

Personally, I like the idea of a track designed car to be NA. The engine is lighter, its cg is lower. Its power-band is more linear. I understand the mileage and emission's are better since the FI engine is only working hard when the *Charger comes on...so I know it's the future of performance.

I prefer N/A engines because they are generally lighter, less complex, smaller, little to no heat soak and better throttle response.

I think the car itself sounds amazing. I can even swallow the addition of an automatic trans but having two F/I upper tier Corvettes does not make sense to me. Not only that but a lack of a high output N/A motor could mean the end of the Z/28 as I (and apparently team Camaro) think it needs to be built.

But what was really dumb was the car on the trailer was not the car they revealed. They just put a cheesy cover over it that had a camo pattern.

Yeah. The whole time they were towing it I was wondering if somebody was gonna tear off all the vinyl to do the reveal. That would have been hilarious watching one piece at a time being shown.

Yeah, that was really lame. They should have just had the presentation be the 3 or 4 minutes at the show and be done with it. The 20 minute video of the camo'd car being towed over there was completely unnecessary.

You have to admit it would be fun if you were the one driving a Stingray in a caravan like that though.

I'm sure it would have been but why all the ceremony over a car that wasn't even shown?

If the new mantra is, "It's ALL about the product!", that message didn't get through to the video director...

Fantastic car, though!
