MBRP Inc & GM project "Colorado Speed"

I figured being a forum with tons of LS fans as well as gear heads, this would be a good spot to show you one of the projects we are currently working on…Colorado Speed. We started this project well over a year ago and has slowly progressed to being close to completion soon.

With a long history of building GM project vehicles, MBRP Inc have been presented with an opportunity to work with General Motors to design and build a full on drift truck project.

While we are building this truck with GM as a DRIFT project, GM will also have our truck on display at many of their larger shows and events across Canada. MBRPinc will also have many other shows, events and various venues where we will also be showing the project all across North America. Watch for us at various drag strips and drift events, and we also hope to run the Texas mile and the Silver State Classic events as well.

We have had the fortune of being able to work with some of the industrys biggest manufactures for sponsorships. I will compile a complete list as well for you guys to see who has been involved with this project to date.

This is the way things started...

A stock 2007 Z71 regular cab short box Colorado was delivered to get the ball rolling as well as a LS7 crate motor and a T-56 six speed transmission. With this combo being stout to begin with, we knew we were going in the right direction…but once again ATI Pro Charger jump on board with one of their F1A’s to give this LS7 some more horsepower…aprox 1100hp with 14lbs of boost.

As the truck was being torn apart we sent the motor to the guys at EPP to tear it apart and put some killer internals in to handle the extra boost.

Here is the before picture, and then what it's going to look like when completed...

Here is the internals list...it was built to handle 22 lbs of boost...we are sticking with 14 lbs for now.

This is the list from EPP.

Compstar Connecting Rods
Clevite H series rod (CB663HN) and main bearing (CB2199HX) ARP main and head studs Total seal rings with an AP steel top ring
Comp Cam duration @ .050 is 236/246 on a 114 lobe separation
installed @ 113 intake centerline with .637/.650 lift Manley 5/16 one piece pushrods The heads were O-ringed at West Coast Cylinder Heads Valve springs are comp cams 26921kt

The engine is 428.69 CID. The bore is 4.130, and it has the stock LS-7 4" stroke crankshaft. The compression ratio is 9.37:1 The block was honed with a torque plate, and the crankshaft was computer balanced to

Forgeline hooked us up with a set of custom wheels...

Front -Forgeline ZX3r 19 x 9 - Rear - Forgeline ZX3R 19 x 12

Couple of shots with the raw finish while they were being test fitted.

In the pic you can see the US Brakes set up that we are running. The fronts are 4 piston with drilled rotors and the rear are 2 piston with drilled rotors. We are running a second set of 2 piston rear calipers with a hand E brake for drifting purposes...

Yeah thats kinda what I was looking for.

Wish I could find a production kit to give my little blue truck some more towing power but I just don't see it happening given the size of the market.

Suscribing. I love what you guys are doing with this project. I have often myself thought about trucks like this. I can not wait to see the end result.
