Question COIL PACK QUESTION.

Hey there guys and gals, since I have just cammed my Camaro and installed new plugs, new Taylor 70mm wires and just about everything else, the car has 101k on the clock and was thinking that I should replace the coil packs. What brand do you "pros" suggest, MSD, Accel or just go back with the OEM GM replacements. I'm sure that they can't be still real good after 8 yrs and 101k miles. Thanks for any info and it is much appreciated.

I’ve always just replaced with delco parts. MSD are nice, but I don’t know if they really provide any more performance over stock.

Are coils worth any power on a naturally aspirated engine in the real world?

I have been looking at these http://performancedistributors.com/p...-ls-sos-coils/ but don't want to spend the dollars if they're not worth anything significant on Heads + Cam N/A engine.

I saw one dyno evaluation on an LSA that made 26RWHP with those coils, then they did another with non stop video that only made 5RWHP after the internet questioning them! lol.

stock is perfectly fine. but, if you want to upgrade them, i would run the Mercury Marine IGN-1A coil

I've heard the truck coils are a factory type upgrade not huge but t a little and fairly affordable.

You should look at granatelli …… they have a nice comparison of wires also with their zero ohms compared to many and nice choices for coils, you may want to do some sultans of spark or what ever. http://granatellimotorsports.com/ http://performancedistributors.com/p...-ls-sos-coils/ the sultans of spark have a nice article on the page from lsx TV showing its gains on a CTSV of course its boosted but....24 ish hp gain...… and the price is reasonable, why use stock...……...And I use granatelli wires...why give it good spark then kill it on the way to the plug..... SO no after seeing comparisons I don't recommend MSD or ACCEL or just what ever even for wires let alone Taylor...they are in the comparison also for resistance …. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...0&&FORM=VRDGAR
