I've had mine for a coupe of years now. I've had a couple of reduced power incidents, but a simple reprogramming of the controller fixed that. Personally, I hate driving the car without it. The throttle response is ridiculously slow.

I can see where a ported throttle body would help a little, more air and smoother surface, but it does nothing to remedy the sluggish throttle mapping configured in the ECM.

Without cracking the engine open for new cam and heads, and/or hoping the guy tuning the car didn't get his training from "YouTube", a throttle controller is the way to go.

was thinking the same thing, possibly a ported throttle body like from VMAX or Bo White

^^ This. The ported throttle body adds some nice performance, but it is not a replacement for the VTC. Neither is a tune. I have all 3, and all 3 are necessary for different reasons.

You also have a different car, being a 6 cylinder, just about anything will be an improvement that is easily noticed.

Disclaimer. .......... not hating on 6 cylinders!

I never liked the lag or response time when pressing on the gas petal. I did a little research on throttle controllers but not as much as I should have. So after Christmas I installed/programed the throttle controller in my car and it did make a noticeable difference in the response of the throttle. Not long after while out driving I got the Engine Power is Reduced. I stopped in a parking lot and when I went to crank up the car, that's when the message came up. I thought it was a one time occurrence but now it does it all the time. Things that I have done to try to fix the issue: disconnected the the battery and reprogrammed the controller, 15 minutes later Engine Power is Reduced. Took the Throttle Controller out disconnected the battery over night and still have the problem. Hooked up a Code reader and now showing C0242 and P0601. Never had an issue/codes/engine power reduced with my car until hooking up the throttle controller. I can't even drive it now because it keeps going dead. Now I'm lost and not sure what to do next. I would have it towed to a dealer but I don't want to be charged out the ass for the dealer to say it's this or that and not have the problem fixed. I have spent many hours researching on the computer and come to find out that this seems to be a common theme. For some no problems but for others they are left scratching their heads trying to figure what happened. I even called the company, not to get my money back, but to ask what have been the most common problems that have occurred after installing the controller. Just received an email from the company referencing a thread on Camaro5. I read the thread and the guy in the thread had never installed a throttle controller on his car then the last part of the email stated it was not their product that caused the problem. From what I have read on this site and many others that the product is the problem but I have been unable not found a common fix for the issue. Is there anyone that has gotten their problem fixed? is there a common fix or mutible fixes?

Ported Throttle Body. I have one and it does help but you won't notice it as much as TC. I emailed Vitesse and they claim the codes can be caused by the TC coupled with an older battery that doesn't have consistent voltage. My battery is almost 6 yrs old, so I bought a new one today but probably still won't put the TC back on.

My battery is only a year old and when I'm not driving the car it's on a battery tender. I know my issue is not the battery.
