From what I've seen, stock for stock, the hellcat stands almost no chance against my Z, unless it's a roll race or the cat is on a tire. Most run in the 12 range and a lower mph in similar air. I've never raced one yet to say for sure, but my dad's friend ran his Hellcat about a month ago and ran 12s at 120. He ran at grudge wars, so I know the prep was non existent, which would explain the time, but that mph.

I don't argue that fact in the slightest. Nothing more I'd like than to see Chevy remove all doubt from anybody in all track venues. Could simply be an option with letters and numbers which differentiates each car.

Hellcat engines have always been in the realm of 750-760 horsepower. Dodge advertised them with lower horsepower in a clever move. Three years later they can announce a bump in horsepower without having to do anything to the engine. The Redeye is something different. That's a Demon motor with a conservative tune. That thing will definitely take the ZL1 to school, I think. Luckily for those of us that bought the earlier hellcats, we just need to spend $2500-$3000 and we are making a reliable 800+ horses to the wheel. Those hemi motors are truly amazing.

ZL1 is nothing like the hellcat or demon, it's a car for every sport event, drag or track.
And it's so tunable that you can get 100+rwhp with just SC pulley change. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk |

I realize that Atco is one of the best dragstrips in the country, but that sounds like a different planet than here. Real life observation up here is, have never seen a stock Hellcat run even close to a stock ZL1. Yes you read that right, best I've seen a stock HC go here is low 12s, yet I've seen a stock ZL1 go 11.4 here in the summer (hot-lapping). Only a few of the modded Dodges have done better than that, and usually it's in better conditions than that ZL1 had. Obviously, when I'm calling those HCs or ZL1s stock, I mean seems to be stock. I'm talking about the 'normal' HC here, as have not seen the widebody cars running at the track yet, but have seen a couple at a cars&coffee event.

That zl1 has definitely had some work done or the Hellcat wasn’t in it all the way. No way stock for stock the Zl1 keeps up in a straight line.

This. My buddy has a stock ‘16 Challenger Hellcat. First time at the track, best time he could muster was 13.4! Then, after adding 305 drag radials he was able to get a 12.4 last time out. I still beat him with my bone stock 2SS...

Either he's using the black key or should have the car confiscated. 12.4 with drag radials? Track must of been on Mt. Everest
