The Mustang has a live axle and it is very close in results to your beloved IRS equipped Camaro. |

Funny...there's that word again...with the new improved GT 500 now on two-mode Bilsteins, care to 'splain those two modes?
"Uhhh...Yup. Ya got yer street-mode for Dearborn potholes...and ya got yer TRACK mode for...well..it firms up the FRONT and the BACK...so I's a-guessin' she be for ROAD COURSE, cuz it ain't LOOSE up-front and TIGHT out the hind-end, so's cain't be fer no DRAG RACING!" Course, with 56% up-front, she'll TRANSFER REAL FINE, Bunkie..." [red neck-'splanation] |

I'm sensing a bit of an inferiority complex in this thread...

So the new GT500 is better in pretty much every way from the ZL1. It's not the end of the world. This happens in the muscle car world. Hell, when the 2010 Camaro came out it smoked the current Mustang. It's just the nature of the beast.
The biggest mistake GM made was not keeping their cards closer to their chest. I understand why they wanted to keep the Camaro hype going by promising a hi-po version, but in taking several years to deliver they gave Ford ample time to prepare for it. Ford's had the top performing muscle for years now, they weren't about to just sit back and let something they knew was coming steal it from them. It's really not a huge deal. The ZL1's awesome, and if you own one you're still going to love the car and have others fawning over it. Just get what you enjoy and don't worry so much about what the competition is doing. |

A famous...and believeable...GM quote...
"We're NOT done...", and since the new-improved ChiliWagon is still in the offing, there's still time for Ford to go back and make it right... Works both ways, buddy... |
