Mace cams for LFX??

I'm wanting to get these mace cams for my 13 LFX but I'm curious if they are actually worth the gains? This is my daily driver and is basically stock except for a trifecta tune and an exhaust.

Not sure if answered before, but was that guy tuned prior to the cam swap and tune? Want to know if the 45hp is above an already tuned engine, if not then a good portion of the 45 is in getting a tune.

Plus if GPI did cams and it worked out really well I think we would be hearing about it. I remember Derrek asking Ryan from GPI about it and never really heard anything other than yes he did one. I just dont see huge gains from this cam swap.

I am not sure to be honest, maybe Gwatney performance can clarify.

Awesome result though.

They say about 30-40hp, the one in the graph above made about 45rwhp with cams only.

if you have a good confident tuner that is familiar with VCM suite by HP Tuners then go for it !

The Mace Cams have proven to be a big pain for the minimal gains. I've found out why they're weak, and a few of us are working towards having some new cams made here in the USA...but they're not going to be cheap. :\

I'll be posting here once we make some more progress on the topic.

Mace cams for LFX??

I just don't understand how only one guy can get a good tune and that power gain (which is decent) from just cams while the other guys who try come up dry or spend a stupid amount of money to get close or have a f/I set up. Also, how many others that we know of have tried this besides the couple we know have already heard from? Not trying to stir any arguments or what not but I just don't understand why the "American" cars can't get the same gains. It's apparent that they don't, when considering most people who bought them but no one really says anything other than they are hard to tune or its not worth the time and money. It's like we all want cams but we get easily discouraged. That's how I was and still partially am but hell, if there's someone out there who says they can get me an increase that's good and I wouldn't break the bank or have serious issues I'd be on board. (serious as in my motor blowing the hell up) I understand there are unforeseen things that could cause issues but it's part of modding a car. I mean the cams from mace you can get for right under a grand and I would have no problem installing them. That leaves the tune. So let's say 1500 or so for 50whp. (Depending if the tuner just charges a flat rate and understands the way a quad cam car works) That's not all that bad.. Yeah it's a lot of money but there's 4 cams... And it's not a v8 and we will probably be hard pressed to see crazy gains from cams like the ls3 does. I get it's an understudied area for our cars but What is just hard for me to grasp is why are they so hard to tune or what underlying issues are there. I'm no tuner but I understand all of it fairly well. Can a tuner or anyone maybe bring to light some of these issues that may not have been talked about as much
