There are a lot of folks on the forum making the switch! Hmmm, wonder why!

A used one, maybe a '12 2SS/RS or '13 if I wait it out until the end of the year.

Gotcha. When I finally do a cam I'm thinking:

-ls3 conversion
-cam
-upgrade vararam to "tune" model (only $100)
-dyno tune

That's probably..... $3,500?

Also want to do headers/exhaust cutoffs not sure where that fits in.

Just got the GM "strong" MAF sensor on there and I've gotta say.... to anyone that hasn't done it yet it's a great $80 upgrade. My 2010's throttle was more on the jumpy side and this smoothed things up big time. "Throttle precision" is what I would call it, as before with the weak one there was a split second where the engine didn't respond and would JUMP up to where you had it. This made things much more smooth in my opinion.

Also, Vararam (no-tune) and power-wedge are coming Monday . I was skeptical of the "power wedge" deal but this dyno pushed me accross the line:

For $90.... not bad if it really gives me +10 HP/Torque

Initially I thought the v6 would be enough horses for me, coming from a civic, but now I want that v8 POWA and love the way they sound.

If you are going to do the cam upgrade, you need to get headers first! Then go from there!

Nope! Reading it now. It seemed like he installed, then dynoed, then said it wasn't worth it.

The instructions for the VR and the PW both clearly state 100-mile break in. They even went so far as to state that the computer takes the first 35 miles, compares it, then makes the first adjustment.

I'll report and let you all know if my highly-tuned butt dyno can spot a difference ha

SlowSS... they wanted $55k for the ZL1. Red. Keeping my eye out for one to be just right in price and I'm jumping.

Gotcha. I've heard of people going with 2.5" or 3", any recommendations? Seems to make sense that if the goal is to increase flow 3" long tube headers would allow for a greater upper-end. Any thoughts/experience?

I hadn't gone to look at that one. Seen a red one at Hendricks a while back, but they were still wanting 54k with 4k miles. I'm just going to eventually make up my mine on performance or appearance and dive in on mine. No point in switching up. Your going to keep your wheels though, right?

It's actually 1 7/8 or 2" headers! Think you are thinking cat back systems!
