I got into an accident in mine and it was totaled out, so what did I do? I went and bought another one same year and model, bought my totaled car back, swapped all my stuff from the original one. I just couldn't let that be the end of my saga with this incredible car and never really considered getting something else. Since the swap everything is better then ever and I'm in love again.

'cause it's what all the cool kids do!

Seriously tho, my father purchased the car new on the fall of '09. When he passed away from cancer, it came into my possession. I have no intentions to get rid of the car. It's a constant reminder of him, and every time I wrench on it, I can hear him giving me shit for what I'm doing to it. Then I cuss him for not taking better care of such a beautiful car. He never did anything to it while he was still here. He wouldn't recognize it now if he was!

The simple answer is that it IS one of the last true muscle car platforms from Chevrolet. Powerful motor, trans and diff setup. Minimal Nanny systems, all of which can be turned off with a push of a button to put the driver in control. No unnecessary features like rev match, hill assist, etc... Plus killer good looks and decent price point.

why Gen 5

Back into a Camaro after years of Corvettes. Recently sold a modded Z06 to get into my 2010 2SS Zl1 conversion and couldnt be happier. More comfortable, better looking and newer than any previous car Ive owned. Started years ago with a 67 SS Big block, 68 SS big block, 69 pro street and 94 SS Glad to be backhttps://www.camaro5.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1137800&stc=1&d=169661 1897

To me the 5th Gen just looks a lot better. I also didn't like that they got rid of the 3.91 in the 6th Gen 1LE SS. Another reason I still have it is because I hardly ever see a 5th Gen 1LE anymore, so its nice to have something "rare"

I was looking for a 1st gen Camaro when the concept came out in 2006. I obsessed over the car for years, knew all the options and features and saved up as much as I could. Purchased in 2012 and have daily driven it, even in the snow, ever since. It also fits my son's hockey equipment.
