Well speaking from experience. I've been in the market for a V8 since last fall. I just sold my v6 last night so now the search is serious. I can tell you right now that the market is very soft for these 5th Gen Camaros. The values of these cars have gone right down the toilet since the 6th Gen intro. Once you get into the $17k area there are 2010-11 V8's with 50k miles in that price range. The v6's in 5years will have almost no value what so ever, so finding a v8 is your best financial option even if it doesnt seem like it now

70K is a lot of miles if you are taking out a 5 year loan on the car and it will be your DD. Even though these Camaros tend to be quite reliable, you are certainly going to start seeing maintenance/repair costs increase as you hit 100K and above. If I were in your shoes I would look to pay a bit less and get a car with under 20-30K miles. There are many many low mileage Camaros out there, since many are not daily driven and sit through winters. |

Edit: Also if I do get a 10-13 it'd be a 3 or 4 year max. Only way I'd do more than 4 is if it's a newer one. |

If the question is 2010 V8 vs 2015 V6 then the answer is V8 all day everyday.

V8's in Oklahoma are super tough to get at a fair price..still!
I got my V6 with extremely low mileage for a steal! I will prolly look at a '16 in a couple years, but this is good fun for now! I do have the upgrade bug already, but there is sooo much you can do to any of these pretty reasonably. But seriously, if you will be making payments, get a warranty! 70k is prolly past the GM warranty and you will get stung! |

Well it's not necessarily 2015 V6. I was looking at some 1SS for about the same price as the V6 but with more miles. I'm looking at warranty wise and which would be the best purchase for the future.

I have to disagree. Trading your current 2010 v6 auto for a 2010 v8 manual is all the upgrading you will need. 2010's are still great, as I'm sure you are aware. I believe that is where you will be most happy.

I believe that as well. Only issue is trying to find a 2010 with few miles..

Don't let that be too much of a deciding factor for you. Of course everyone wants a car with fewer miles. I picked up my 2010 2SS/RS LS3 for $19,995 which was a good deal for my area. But it had 68k miles on it. Just ticked over 75k miles now. Last week I had a cam put in and I've put an intake, longtubes, and a catback on since owning it in August. Feels just as good as any other 2010 out there. I wasn't excited about the miles either but pickings were slim so I went with it. Couldn't be happier with it!

Look for a low milage 2013, they increased HP that year, for both V6 & V8s. Last year for squircal tail lights & 1st year for infotainment system. In my justified opinion, the best of the 5th Gens. Best of luck finding the perfect one for yourself.

Check out CarMax, if you find a vehicle that you like with them regardless of where it's at you can have it transferred to their nearest location...Now some of the transfers are free and you have to pay a nonrefundable transfer fee on others...You are not obligated to purchase the car if there's is anything about that you do not like...I would also suggest that you have your financing in order before seriously looking at a purchase, when purchasing from a dealer they make money off interest rates and you sound like someone that may be a target...There are a lot of cars for sale on this site that are priced fair, this could be an option as well...Happy hunting...

I assume you mean some extra HP is free'd up from things such as electric power steering and not that the engine is rated for a higher HP output?

i own a 2015 2LT RS,its been a great car,has all the options.i average around 21 mpg,27-28 on the highway.unless you are going racing the v6 is a good choice, but drive the v8 before you buy.also know you will pay a higher price for the v8 in terms of fuel and insurance.
