I drive a bright green car Camaro with open headers, no front plate, and essentially an unreadable back plate. What makes you think a cop would even look my way twice!?
I've been meaning to get a radar detector.

I've had a 9500ix since 2010. It's been good but getting a little dated. But I think maybe the one out now is new and improved. I'm now looking at a Redline. I think it's discontinued but available on Amazon. Excellent long range, and programmable to make least likely to trigger on false alarms than other brands and models. This is more important with all the radar based collision avoidance crap getting put on cars nowadays. Redline also supposedly has pretty good VG-2 detection which is important when using in places where they are illegal, but I usually just unplug it for a few miles when it first alarms. The laser detection on all of them is there to let you know to find a safe place to pull over to get your ticket
Some reviews here. http://radartest.com/Redline-Valentine-One-Review.asp

Was thinking about it but don't think it's worth it anymore. Too expensive. There's a flyer back on post #24282 for tickets in the Conti Corral in turn 2 for $70. Does include corral parking. This deal is good until the 16th. I'll probably decide next week.

I run the Valentine One. IMO it was worth every penny and to be honest it paid itself off in the first 30min of driving when it saved me from a cop hidden around a corner. Only speeding ticket I've gotten in the past 5years has been in my winter beater before I swapped the detector over.
