ABL (ambient lighting) limited to the doors only? - Page 11 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I honestly didn't even know what ABL was when I ordered...couldn't really care less. It's neat, but not really why I am getting a Camaro. I find it hard to believe it's such a deal-breaker in a lot of cases. But, of course, that's just me.

Anyways, in this pic, the car looks like it's on (lights are on in pic before it too), and there's no sign of anything on the dash. Could be a 1SS though, and it could be a few months old while they were still working on it. Won't know I guess for about 6 weeks

it shouldn't be that hard to have an auto dim in the same fashion your auto lights turn on and off... Obviously you have to have the LED's be very bright to see them in the day, and yes you should be able to see them in the day unless they are using very weak LED's.. Buy a Force-FX lightsaber that has 24 LED's in a string and it very very bright in the day time to give the effect of a lightsaber from Star Wars.. And those run on 3 AAA batteries for about 30 minutes so hooked up to the car battery should be a cake..

Agreed, it shouldn't be hard but I'm going to give GM's engineers the benefit of the doubt and assume they aren't morons. There's probably a lot of variables that go into building/testing it.

I ordered the car for my wife. I showed her the ABL info months ago...

She cares less if the dash or doors light up. 09 Honda ACCORD Coupe did not have it .

ALL she wanted was the stick.!

There are no constraints listed as of yesterday. When and IF there are I will worry about it then.

There is no comparison to some of these 'what if " .

GM does not change major items without advising dealers.

TOO many people are getting wound up about something that is just speculation.

Thats the one problem with semi blind ordering, yes we are enthusiast and most if not all want the car reguardless, but come on just over a month away from full production and these details aren't finalized?? Also u think they will offer the abl in the convertible whenever that may be released?

Wow, all I have to say about this thread is that I'm glad I settled on the 1LT early on. No ABL worries for me.
