When I orderd my car the dealership printed out a price plan from workbench. Did you get something stating the price of the car, options, etc when you ordered it?

If you orderd before the pricing was announced, did you get anything from them when your status changed in workbench?

It sucks that your not getting the original pricing.

Good luck!

1) When I ordered it, pricing wasn't available from Workbench.
2) No. I wasn't smart enough to ask if pricing was available through workbench on a status change. How could I have known to ask? As of 5/1, my dealer tells me that the pricing for my car isnt available through the workbench yet... I think he is specifically talking about an MSRP price for my specific car...
3) I don't know if I'm not getting the original pricing.

I'm just trying to prepare for a possibility that the window sticker doesn't show original pricing. That is, I am hoping my window sticker doesnt show a $395 premium for IOM, since my workbench order was placed 10/28. I have that printout (my original workbench order), along with a signed paper saying they will honor MSRP. But according to this site, April was when a "price increase" happened, and IOM became a premium color. If my window sticker does show the IOM premium, I'm asking if anyone can help me show something to my dealer that would allow me to be justified in not paying extra cost for IOM. Otherwise, our agreement is "MSRP".

I'm guessing a lot of Oct/Nov preorders are in the same situation as me...

This is what I got from GM in Feb. I'll also post up a Feb price sheet in a sec.

Neal,

Counting down the days until you can get behind the wheel of your very own all new Camaro? You're in fast company. Less than one month remains to preorder one at introductory prices.1 Be one of the first to own a true 21st-century sports car.

Which one will you choose? It's available in a V6 with 304 hp and an estimated 27 MPG highway2 or in an SS, which generates 426 hp and goes from 0 to 60 in 4.7 seconds.

To preorder, download a spec sheet and then go to a local dealer to place your order. Be sure to hold your place in line before March 15, 2009.

I'm confused.

Won't the window sticker on a pre-order have the R6P code and have the original pricing that was locked in?

If so, and you agreed to MSRP, you pay what's on the sticker don't you?

The thread that came out with the new price increase in April stated the invoices will come with current prices, but the R6P code guarantees you get the pre-increase pricing.

What happens if you changed part of your order after the price increase? I kept telling my dealer I wanted to change the color but he encouraged me to wait...then the price increase came. I changed the exterior color and stripes. Do I now pay the increase for these items + the increase on the automatic and accessories that I didn't change?

I wonder what price the invoice will pop up with...or do they have to manually modify it to pre-increase prices?

Invoice has pricing as of time the car was built. It will be interesting to hear if people are able to get the correct, preorder pricing.

Maybe this will help some people. This is the email they sent to people who signed up for the camaro mailing list clearly stating that preorders would be price protected.

Too many people think all dealers are honest!

I see too many stories here of deals made at MSRP....well MSRP could be 40K today and it could be 43K in a month!! I amd my dealer signed the purchase agreement at the "then" MSRP....... with destination charge it's $43,395

A signed document showing $xx,xxx , a dollar value folks , any lessons learned ! Not knocking anyone but haven't we all learned this before the 2010 Camaro preorder fiasco was announced !

I changed my order over the phone. so I didn't get anything in writing, honestly didn't even think about it, just figured I would get stuck with the new pricing. It's not going to be a deal breaker for me if I have to pay more, but it will certainly keep me from sending my friends to the dealer if he charges me the new price and banks the credit from GM.

I almost hate to post my reply b/c I'm not 100% sure of my answer. However, it stands to reason (and more notably, this is the way your dealer will look at it) that anything you did after the price increase was announced will be charged the higher rate, regardless if you changed the spare tire...etc. or not. Sad yes, but in the greedy world of car-dealing....very likely.

I too was encouraged by my dealer not to change my order (color change only) b/c "it might put you further back in the line". But that was false info. b/c the order had not moved yet from the 1100 code...so it didn't matter...per CamaroScotty.

On the bright side of things, I'm glad and proud of you for hanging in there waiting on the best Muscle Car of the 21st Century. Once she gets here, you'll never even know the difference!
